Roster Moves - Thomas and Madison Waived
Two roster moves are coming, folks!
Adam Schefter tweeted that Josh Thomas and Anthony Madison were waived today. My guess is that this says that Freeney is expected back this week, and MAYBE we'll see a Ratliff signing?!?

UFL signings maybe
Season just ended, and today was the first day the championship players could be signed I believe.

A Ratliff signing
would please me and basketcat as well

Bob Sanders does not play Hide-and-Seek, He plays HIDE and PRAY-HE-DOES-NOT FIND-YOU!
Why do we think they’ll sign Ratliff? Doesn’t it just mean Hayden looks good to play this weekend?
by Louisville Soul Train on Dec 1, 2009 6:37 PM EST reply actions
Good point
I was a bit hasty (and maybe optimistic) in posting the info. That said, I have been assuming that they would want Hayden to get 2 full weeks of practice before putting him back in… he could at least rotate in making Madison unnecessary for now.
What’s kind of exciting, though, is what they may do with the 2 new roster spots. Damn I wish they had nabbed Jon Runyan a couple of weeks ago.
How can you not love a team that does this?
This thing called
Depth. The Colts are lacking it in the secondary. And he could be a help on special teams.
Bob Sanders does not play Hide-and-Seek, He plays HIDE and PRAY-HE-DOES-NOT FIND-YOU!
Signing Ratliff just makes sense period...
Adding a guy who can fill in in the secondary is a must right now, as I would not want ANY chance of Jennings being the starting CB come playoff time…
Lacey and Powers are great, but after that…..there’s Jennings…..and if any of you thinks that Ratliff isnt better…..
Thank you
for supporting my point lol
;)
Bob Sanders does not play Hide-and-Seek, He plays HIDE and PRAY-HE-DOES-NOT FIND-YOU!
Of course the other possibility
is that someone else is injured and they need the roster spot for depth at that other mysterious position. Sorry – just went peytonsthebest on everyone ;-)
How can you not love a team that does this?
hope not but we will know tomorrow

must say this is very interesting and unexpected. the real interesting one is thomas
and who would we sign to replace him?
GO COLTS!!! 09 IS OURS!!!
No one
He was brought on to play in Freeney’s spot and he should be back this week.
Bob Sanders does not play Hide-and-Seek, He plays HIDE and PRAY-HE-DOES-NOT FIND-YOU!
i thought he was brought up earlier in place of someone

I think he was brought up earlier and then cut
and then brought up for Freeney and cut again.
EVH+DLR=BFFr........ God I Hope So!!
Gonzalez???
This ain’t the MLB
in all seriosness, I think he’s further away than Hayden.

they said something about mid. december so a week or two

He will be one guy
who plays while most starters are on the bench, IMO, just to get him back to playing shape
Bob Sanders does not play Hide-and-Seek, He plays HIDE and PRAY-HE-DOES-NOT FIND-YOU!
man we have such a break i think they need to rest a couple players per week start with
the ones who are not the KEY guys. then have them all play at least 3 quarters the last game then they got another week off. so basically use the next 4 games to take turns resting players then play them the last game before the week off they get for the bye.
GO COLTS!!! 09 IS OURS!!!

I don't see a lot of starters
playing in the Bills game. It will be like 6 degrees when they play and when its cold, it hurts a lot more to get hit. I think the Colts will still win that game with the backups in. The Bills will have nothing to play for and will just be ready to get this season over and start the search for a new coach and get ready for next season
Bob Sanders does not play Hide-and-Seek, He plays HIDE and PRAY-HE-DOES-NOT FIND-YOU!
ok personally id like to see painter get some reps when we start using the backups
this may happen if sorgi isn’t available but he may be i got no idea anymore what is going on with him unless they have just decided that painter is better which i think is possible

what scares me
is that they will be mad and want to play spoiler… that could get very dangerous for our guys out there

Colts worked out Dom and QB Shane Boyd today...
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Wilson-Colts-try-out-Dominic-Rhodes.html
Hmmmmmm… Sorgi to IR? Another RB? What’s wrong with Simpson/Hart to be the legs for the final games of the season?
In Polian we trust.
Dom returned some kicks in the past
I can dream can’t I?

Exactly what I was thinking/hoping
Thanks to MarkFive05 I have a new theme video that I hope you all will remember me by: BAM BAM
Oops
Posting before reading isn’t good but I continue to do it.
Dom should be the kick returner. Hell, my grandma could do better if she just let the ball roll into the endzone and fell on it.
AFC South champs .... again.
Who the hell is Shane Boyd?
/too lazy to google

Just googled.
This guy looks like the biggest hack in the freakin’ universe! WTF are we doing even letting him work out?
by peytonsurdaddy on Dec 1, 2009 8:42 PM EST up reply actions
what are you talking about
he’s the NFL Europes leading rusher among QBs
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.
and he scored the first ever TD in the UFL!
California Redwoods… my hometown team – woohoo!! lol
How can you not love a team that does this?
Me thinks..
Boyd was signed only to be the scout team’s Vince Young.
My thoughts
Dom can be the new kick returner and Simpson waived. He is a solid 3rd RB, but his laughable kick returning skills are pissing Polian and Caldwell off to no end and it is time for a change. Plus Dom has postseason experience which will be huge since Brown has been struggling lately.
AFC South champs .... again.

if only. Marv can come back, but only if he brings Tarik and/or finally agrees to an appropriate salary.

if Tarik Glenn walks through that door
……………
JOYGASMMMMMMMMMMMMM….
Never doubt Peyton Manning, he’ll make you look silly
Joseph Addai is a good running back.
Im a douchebag, an asshole, and I'm rarely right.
hopefully he can fit through the door
if only for his sake. Stay fit buddy.
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.
Yea
easy to forget that being that big isnt healthy. I do hope he’s doing well post colts, (I think he was interviewed for a reason article on teh Colts OL, so probably not too bad), but health issues aside, the team could use him. CJ has been real shaky the past few weeks.

well a guy with a LTs build can be healthy pretty heavy
just because of the height and width of their frames, but it seems like a ton of LTs have weight issues. Or maybe they are just more noticeable since they are giant men who have to remain extremely athletic.
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.
yes
Just in general though, these guys are either too large (think Vince Wilfork is going to have a fun post career life?) or take too many hits and end up vegetating when they are 50. Look at a guy like Manning, I hope and pray his post-career life is normal, since he’s clear never been ‘injured’, but keeps playing every snap.
Never doubt Peyton Manning, he’ll make you look silly
Joseph Addai is a good running back.

Didn't Glenn have to go to
fat camp like every year at training camp?

with two roster spots
this seems like a great time to bring on a 4th QB and a 3rd kicker (Jason Elam is available, so we can go 3 for 3 in the ‘really old’ club) and we can have 7 roster spots taking up 2 non-rotating positions. That’ll be fantasti.c

who's going to drop key passes in preseason games, now?
Maybe we should pick up Braylon Edwards to keep around until final cuts…
But his route-running was so sharp!
WHO, I ASK! WHO WILL RUN THE SHARP ROUTES NOW?! DAMN YOU POLIAN! DAMN YOU!

well he seemed to run a little better last game and block better than he had the other games. but yes
he had a horrible mistake on that pass block. however i think it is more him getting back into it after missing as he is a rookie. i dont think he is injured.
GO COLTS!!! 09 IS OURS!!!
I can't remember where I read it, but there was a list of 8 or 9 UFL players
that NFL teams are very interested in pursuing and I noticed one was an offensive tackle and another was a “pass rusher”.

Keith Gray
Keith and his brother are very close friends of mine, and Keith will be signing tomorrow with the Colts. Keith Gray was an undrafted free agent who was one of the last cuts with the Panthers. He played last season with Donald Brown at UConn.
OL
interesting. I guess they are down an interior line option when Federkiel went out for the year.
