Andre Johnson beating out Reggie Wayne in Pro Bowl voting?
As of right now, Andre Johnson leads AFC WR's in balloting, about 8,000 votes ahead of our very own All-Star Reggie Wayne. Johnson also beats the NFL's leading receiver Randy Moss. Here are the stats for all three:
Reggie Wayne - 79 Rec - 987 Yds - 12.5 Avg - 9 Td's
Andre Johnson - 63 Rec - 945 Yds - 15.0 Avg - 5 Td's
Randy Moss - 66 Rec - 992 Yds - 15.0 Avg - 8 Td's
I understand that the pro-bowl is pretty much a popularity contest and does not always represent the best in the league, But how does Johnson beat out both Wayne and Moss? Is it because he was on the cover of the ESPN Magazine? - I wouldn't be surprised.
However I do want it to be clear that I respect Andre Johnson to the fullest, he is an amazing athlete, he plays hard and never gives up for a team that has been average since it was introduced to the league, he does not cause drama in the locker room, he plays the game the way it should be played, Period.
I suppose it just bothers me that Reggie Wayne is not the leading vote ummmm...receiver? This should be his best season statistically and this years performance should be noticed for a man who's had such an incredible career.
In other Pro Bowl news, it looks like Dallas Clark is finally going to Hawaii !!!! Sorry, South Florida !!!!! Clark leads all TE's with 462,638 votes, trumping the next closest TE Tony Gonzalez who has 281,567 votes. YAYYYY
QUICK COLTS FACT: Joseph Addai (10 TD's) trails only Little Wrecking Ball (Maurice Jones-Drew - 13 TD's), Purple Jesus (Adrian Peterson 12 TD's), and Pothead (Ricky Williams - 11 TD's) In total touchdowns scored. Go Addai!!!! Go Colts!!!!!

Thats great for Clark
but it doesn’t matter much as none of the Colts will play in the Pro Bowl. They will all be getting Super Bowl Rings instead!
;)
Bob Sanders does not play Hide-and-Seek, He plays HIDE and PRAY-HE-DOES-NOT FIND-YOU!
Good Lookin Angel

So do the writers select the All-Pro team
because Reggie and Dallas should be on the All-Pro team with Peyton.
Peyton Manning makes it Wayne on them hoes!!!!
it is a combination i do know that they vote and our votes have a certain amount of effect
but i think there is also another variable

The official "all-pro team"
is selected by the Associated Press, if my memory serves me correctly.

Note that the "all-pro team"
is different than the Pro Bowl.

I'm confused
If the colts make the SB, and manning makes the pro-bowl. he won’t play. But will it still count as a pro-bowl for him? And by the way guys, Bob Sanders was towards the top in safety voting last year, the fans can get a little crazy. That’s why we are only 1/3 of the decision process. I’m also pretty sure vinny was the top kicker towards the beginning of voting.
have no idea in my oppinion they have screwed over a bunch of the pro bowl vets by doing this
cause many teams wont allow there players to go if they are going to the super bowl

Mike Pollak is number 3
Fan voting is ridiculous. Anyone who voted for Pollak is on something strong.

Vinny was leading the voting too (lol)
And about Addai, well, he needs like each of the next games with 100+ yards rushing. Can it happen? Sure. Will it happen? No.
People needs “impressive” numbers to vote for ‘em, and for most people, an amazing back is the one who sums up a bunch of yards and TD’s. Tough gains or awesome blocking ain’t looked at.
