Hmm... they shouldn't fine him so much for just an article.
I still want to know about the mastercard commercial
Oh, yeah, talk about the OL court fining a man....
The commercial—national media! a speaking part!—he’ll take it in the shorts, albeit for a good cause.
Still, from that article last month (Indystar?) I understand it’s tougher on a guy who tries to hide any media exposure “back home.” Saturday probably let them know about it ahead of time and came clean—maybe they were lenient.
I forget what CJ said they were trying to raise this year—$25k? $50k? From 6-7 guys who play regularly (including Pollack and Ugoh), that’s still a good chunk of change each, on average. But if a guy is fined about 1/10 of his check for a commercial, that’s not too bad, isit? I mean, it’s essentially “found money.”
For articles, quotes in the paper, and other “conduct unbecoming an OL” they still have to pay, but probably a LOT less than for something that actually pays them line an endorsement.
(The worst part about the Mastercard commercial was the “behind the scenes” clip on Youtube where they make Saturday stand on a wooden platform so he’s eye to eye with 18, and 18 makes sure the cameraman sees the platform. What’s next, a phone book on his chair at team meetings so he can see the white board? A booster seat at team meals? Only a 6-5 QB can make fun of a guy who’s 6-2 for being short.)
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.
