As a Colts fan, how do you want the seeding to shape out

As A Colts fan, i certainly will be watching how the playoff seeding for the AFC shapes out. There are a few teams I want to make the playoffs and a few I would like to avoid seeing.

Here is a list of the way I want the seeding to shape out.

1. Indianapolis- of course this spot is already final.

2. San Diego

3. New England

4. Cincinnati

5. Denver

6. Baltimore

 MATCHUPS

Baltimore @ New England.  New England has already won this matchup earlier in the season. However,  i believe Baltimore a great shot at beating NE.   NE currently has NO defense. The game earlier in the season was very close. Baltimore is a good running team, and i am sure the conditions for this game could be snowy. That certainly gives the advantage to Baltimore. NE has not been able to run the ball consistent all year. With possible snowy conditions, NE may find it hard to be consistent passing the ball. If Baltimore wins this matchup, that automatically puts Baltimore @ Indianapolis in the 2nd round. I think Indy matches up well against Baltimore. The previous game was close due to a few unlikely turnovers by the offense.  This would be a matchup that favors Indianapolis at home.

Denver @ Cincinnati

I would love Cincinnati to win this game because I believe Cincinnati  has the best chance to beat San Diego.  Denver is a good team, but their run defense looked shaky. Cincinnati would definitely want to establish the run early in this game and control the clock. Denver is not a team  that will score a lot of points. The Bengals have an underrated defense.

Even if NE wins against Baltimore, that puts NE @ San Diego in the second round. I still feel comfortable against Denver or Cincinnati in the second round.

Although I do not like San Diego, the Colts would benefit them having the 2nd seed. This way the Colts possibly might avoid them in the playoffs all together although i would love the Colts to beat San Diego in the playoffs to shut some experts up.

This is my opinion. I am not even sure if this can even happen. But as a Colts fan, i want a super bowl win. So i will take any help possible for us to accomplish this goal. How would you want the brackets to shape out?

I have a minor disagreement.

I would prefer Cincinatti in the 2 seed, SD at 3, NE 4. That way they each have to play a game before reaching us. Any opportunity to knock out both of them. Hopefully it would be NE at Broncos. The broncos match up very will with the pats and have been the only other team to consistently knock them out of the playoffs. Plus, we’ll have no fear in playing them. With SD as the 3 we won’t play them until the championship

agreed

Chargers in the 3rd seed and having to play two other teams before getting a chance at the Colts would be great. Go Cincinnati!

but yours is the second best option IMO

San Diego

Shame on anyone who does not want to play the Chargers in the AFC championship. I think I would like to play Cincy in our first game. Should be a great game with 2 offenses worth watching.

I don't think it matters at all

Playoffs are such a crapshoot, trying to game out the “perfect bracket” when any team could go off without warning is an exercise in futility.

i want the chargers at some point.

i want us to put them out in a bad way. i want to see Rivers cry, Sproles hit so hard snot bubbles comes out of his nose, and L.T pout like he always does afer they lose.

I don’t want the Chargers as our Divisional opponent. Not if they’ve had weeks to tune up for the meeting. The earliest I want to see them is the AFC Championship game. I’d rather not see them at all (much like 2006, where the Pats knocked them out in the Divisional round).

The Pats are just a real conundrum at this point. I mean, this is a team that appears to be in full-on self-destruct mode. Randy Moss in New England has turned into Randy Moss in Oakland. Their defense couldn’t stop a team of 3rd grade girls. And yet this is a team that had the Colts on the ropes for 58 minutes a few weeks ago. There’s no way that Belichick doesn’t get them amped up for the playoffs. These are still the Pats.

I can’t figure out the Bengals. Some weeks they look great, some weeks they look terrible. I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing them as a Divisional opponent.

Denver seems like they’d be an interesting matchup for most of these teams. I mean, the Colts should have no problems dispatching them. Neither should the Chargers. They’ll give Cincy or New England fits though, which means they could be headed back to Indianapolis in a few weeks.

That last wild card spot is a mess. The Ravens, Jets, Dolphins, and Jaguars at least still have a shot at it. The Steelers and Colts have the most ability to alter the playoff picture; they both play two of the four final Wild Card teams. The Jets and Jags have the hardest remaining games; Indy and @NE for Jags, Indy and Cincy for Jets. Baltimore should get the spot, but anything is possible. Either way, none of those four teams scare me. On the road, sure. But at the Luke? No way.

So, my bracket is thus:
1) Indianapolis
2) San Diego
3) New England
4) Cincinnati
5) Denver
6) Baltimore

Baltimore @ New England – Could go either way. If Baltimore wins, they go to Indianapolis. If New England wins, they go to San Diego.

Denver @ Cincinnati – Again, could go either way. If Baltimore and Denver both win, Denver goes to San Diego; otherwise they go to Indianapolis. If New England and Cincinnati both win, Cincinnati goes to Indianapolis; otherwise they go to San Diego.

Also, a lot of the possible playoff games this year have been or will have been played.

Indy vs. NE, Balt, Denver (3-0)
SD vs. Balt, Cincy, Denver (1-2, 1 to play)
Cincy vs. Denver, Balt, SD (2-1, 1 to play)
NE vs. Balt, Denver, Indy – (1-2)
Denver vs. Cincy, NE, SD, Indy, Balt (2-4)
Baltimore vs. SD, Denver, NE, Cincy, Indy (3-3)

The only real holes are Indy vs SD, Cincy; SD vs. NE, Indy; Cincy vs. Indy, NE; NE vs. SD, Cincy. A lot of those would be Championship game matchups.

My Thoughts

I personally think Miami is going to take the #6 spot and will be at NE in the WildCard round. Should be a good game, but NE should get the win.

1. Colts
2. Chargers
3. NE
4. Cincinnati
5. Denver
6. Miami

NE @ Chargers is a toss up because those teams are very similar this year. I could see it going either way. I would rather see the Chargers in the AFCCG because that is a team that needs to be put away ASAP so we can stop hearing about how they give us fits.

The only reason why the Chargers have won those recent games is because the Colts gave it away. We need to put an end to that.

Also, I would rather see Denver or Cincy in the Divisional Round because I am still afraid that the Colts are going to come out sluggish at the start and if we are playing NE, they will jump on us early and coming back again won’t be easy in the playoffs. Cincy and Denver have below average offenses so staying in the game with a slow start wouldn’t be an issue.

On a side note: Am I the only one that is sick and tired of Dungy putting his 2 cents into any conversation about whether the Colts should play starters or rest guys the last 3 weeks of the season? I think resting important, non-injured players this early is going to be costly. This team still has room for improvement, especially on the offensive side and they should work on continuing the improvement of the running game and getting more consistent play from Manning for 60 minutes at a time….

I don't always drink beer....but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.
