Tragic.
There aren’t enough words to express my sadness.

Truly sad
He seemed to have turned a corner in his life. Makes you think sometimes, as he is about my age (off by a few months) that you never know what is around the corner or what surprises life may throw at you.

Not to speak ill of the dead
Just a troubled guy….I’m sure so much more will come up in this continuing story…Sad, but not suprising, very sad for his children and family…

Thoughts and prayers, man.
He seemed to be turning his life around, too. Nicely done, BBS.

It doesn’t matter how much trouble he has had in the past; this is sad and his family will be in my prayers.

This is not right
I don’t care how troubled his life was, dying before 30 is just plain not right. He’s too damn young to die. He’s not even had 10 years living as an adult.
This is not right. Tragedies like this hurt. They just do.

id like to reflect on a great player
It seemed as though this past offseason, Chris Henry straightened his life out. He’s been a dynamic player for years but this season was different. He became a team first guy. A speedster down the field with a great set of hands had finally matured. As a fan of not only the colts, but a fan of the game, I will truely miss him. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to his family, teammates, and fans. Chris Henry, we hardly knew you. May you rest in peace.

A few things on the Chris Henry tragedy
1) Responses in this thread, and others, continue to solidify our reputation as classy fans
2) If anyone, and I mean anyone, comes in here and starts talking about how Henry “deserved” this because of his past, or that his “lifestyle” brought this tragedy upon him and his family, those comments will be deleted and accounts will be banned without a warning. Those of us who witnessed 9/11 live an in person (like me) or who showered the Dungy family with support and sympathy following that tragedy, simply will not tolerate idiocy from trolls who are looking to belittle the brief life of Chris Henry.
3) Josh at Cincy Jungle has a great write-up on Henry: http://www.cincyjungle.com/2009/12/17/1205354/bengals-wide-receiver-chris-henry. This is the second time he has had to write about a tragedy in the Bengals organization.
4) Football is a game. Maybe instead of spending money on extra beer this weekend give a little to whatever memorial fund they set up for Chris and his family. If not there, give to charity this holiday season.
5) Hug your fiends and family. I lost three personal friends this year. Always appreciate the people who love you in life.

RIP
The article about Henry was very good. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and fans as they go through this difficult time. I wish the best for his three children and hope that they do have a chance to learn about their father and what a wonderful person he was trying to become.

I don't know what I'll do if some idiot tries to say Henry "deserved" this...
… but my reaction will be far from a good or calm one. No, he did NOT deserve anything like this at all; BBS, I, and I think pretty much everyone else here can agree on that. A moment of passion in the midst of an argument is by no means a situation where one “deserves” death. And I will take issue with anyone who claims that it does.

sad for anyone to go, especially a person so young, even moreso one that seemed to just be getting his life back on course.

I don’t understand this at all. Such an odd way to die and at an odd point back when he was getting his life back together. Very sad. 26 years old? That’s way too young to die.

Classy comment BBS
I remember in the offseason, NFL Network did a Chris Henry story, about how he turned his life around, how he had started on a new path. Mike Brown gave him a chance, and Henry seemed to make the most of it. Carson Palmer was ecstatic to have him back. He was working hard, he was “Mini-Moss” as Palmer called him. Just horrible for this to happen now. Someone, who much like Sean Taylor two years ago, who really turned around his life.
Obviously, I feel sad for the Bengals, and his parents, siblings (if he had any) and fiancee. But mostly, for those three kids. It is a shame that Henry and his explosiveness will never grace a football field again, but it is far more sad that those three kids will never really know their father, and that Chris will never be able to be the dad to them that he seemed to want to be so much.
RIP Chris Henry.
