No dumpster fires, please
Let there be no dumpster fire pics this night, for the Jags played us one hell of a ballgame. Maurice Jones-Drew is an absolute monster. Passing on him will go down as the greatest of Bill Polian's few draft mistakes. David Garrard had me hopping up and down with rage as his legs robbed the Colts of at least three more sacks.
Well played, Jags. My hat is off.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to bed. Right after I have a brain aneurysm.

I dont know
Still think Addai is better for our system than MJD…Better blocker, adiquate runner, and very good pass reciever…MJD has him in the running, but not the blocking or recieving. Only player I sort of regret us not getting that we could have was DeMico Ryans…but we needed an RB that year. I am a little sour about us picking up Jennings in the 2nd and Kieaho in the 3rd round…could have definatly had Finnigan vice Jennings, but who knew about him? He was a 7th rounder. 06 was not our greatest draft by a longshot, but we did get Addai, Johnson, and Bethea
Wow
I’m a homer and a Jaguar fan, so you probably wont believe me. But MJD is much much better at blocking and is good in the pass game too. You must be making assumptions based on height because Maurice is terrific at blocking. You can debate receiving, but I think MJD has him there too.

Addai is considered one of the best blocking backs in the league
but it’s probably because he’s called upon to do it so often in a pass heavy system. He’s consistent though. But I also think you’re right, SoCal, MJD is an animal against the pass rush. I don’t know how you can argue one is better than the other in that area.
Did you see Addai’s tackle tonight though? He looked like he wanted to throw the guy’s body down but keep his head. I wish he were that agressive running the ball. Did you notice Hart on the stretch play later in the game? I kept waiting for him to run all the way to the sidelines, but it was crazy – he actually cut back and picked up a few yards. He needs to show Addai how that works.
mjd
got his 1st receiving td this year just tonight. not exactly a redzone demon in the passing game.
just sayin
As long as we have Peyton we will always have a chance to win.
Well
He’s about 3 feet tall, so he’s hard to spot in tight spaces around the red zone; plus he has a trained chimp throwing him the ball, not Peyton Manning.
MJD > Addai by, er, miles.

Agreed
We won a Super Bowl with Addai carrying the rock. He has been a pro bowler. Ugoh and Pollak are far bigger draft mistakes. Addai is great. Saying that we made a mistake because we could have done “greater” is just silly.
Of any player on another team
the one I would want on the colts is MJD. Amazing shiftiness/COD skills as a third down/receiving back, and his 5’7" frame gives him excellent leverage in power running. Truly an all purpose machine. Oh yeah, and the block on merriman was amazing.
I still want
Addai over MJD. I completely disagree with saying that it was a big mistake (it’s not a huge mistake when the guy you picked instead does wee).

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Finals suck.
The Jags always play us tough
and lay eggs against everyone else. Tonight was no dumpster fire, but you can’t escape who you are.
I think we need to establish Dumpster Fire rules.
The Dumpster Fire may be used under the following circumstances:
- The Jaguars commit multiple excessive personal fouls (they’re always good for one a game, so we have to set a higher bar here)
- The Jaguars completely lose their minds and disintegrate at the end of a close, winnable game
- Jack Del Rio makes multiple moronic playcalls and it costs the Jags big (he’s good for one a game)
- The game is completely out of reach by the 3rd quarter
- The Jaguars are in the playoff hunt needing only one or two wins to clinch a spot, are playing against a Colts team that is resting starters, and still can’t get it done.
- Should the Dumpster Fire label not be applied, the Jags will be referred to by their proper derogatory nickname, the Sparkle Kitties.
The Jags played a tough game last night, there weren’t a lot of penalties, they didn’t completely disintegrate, it was a close game heading into the 4th, and Del Rio made some good calls.
Consequently, I am ruling this a NON Dumpster Fire game. Better luck next time, Sparkle Kitties.
Manning makes it Wayne on 'dem hoes!

Great Rules,
You could add one though, Jack Del Rio looks longingly at Peyton Manning every time he has th ball!

and strips off his shirt to reveal a #18 jersey underneath
oh wait… that’s a different coach… nvm
How can you not love a team that does this?
LOL- I'm laughing picturing that in my mind!
