Mariotti - Caldwell's Gamble Dumb but Peyton Saves Him
The article's a mixed bag. The answer, Mr. Mariotti, is that without Freeney and Mathis we cannot win in the playoffs. We can win without them in the regular season.

I always found Mariotti to be a douchebag
regardless if it’s a positive or negative article. He just has that air about him.
In the words of BBS...
He’s a schmuck. I didn’t like how the article jumped from Caldwell’s “gamble” to Jacksonville’s marketing woes. I guess the only part that concerns me is his claims that Caldwell gambled by not playing Freeney and Mathis. The Colts don’t care about 19-0. Yes it would be nice, awesome actually, but goal number one is to win the Super Bowl. If that means playing our two best (beast?) ends sparingly, then so be it. It’s one thing to disagree with his decisions, it’s another to say he gambled and had to get bailed out by Manning.

The best thing
that happened to us that enjoy Chicago sports writing was when Jay Mariotti left the Tribune and took his act online. Good riddance.
