I have never written a comment on Stampede Blue and I have always been a Colts fan since Peyton Manning became a Colt. I have taken the ups and downs in a good spirit, sad when they lose and happy when they win. I am a old guy and I will never understand this latest move of pulling Peyton and other starters yesterday. They tried that once under Dungy and it got them out of sync and they just couldn't get it together. Yes, the Super Bowl is important and a goal to look forward to every year but every year we have a Super Bowl winner but how many times have we had a team go the whole season without losing a game, once, and Michael Irvin, a number of times, recently said he would give up all 3 Super Bowl rings to have had a perfect season. Not only would the Colts have a chance, a good chance, to win the Super Bowl but they would have had a chance to accomplish something no one would have accomplished in the past to having won a large streak of wins that no one team will every duplicate and also win another Super Bowl at the same time.
I think at the team leader Peyton should have said hell no, not publicy, but in a private meeting with the idiot that made this decision. I think they would have backed down and let the Colts wrap up a perfect season which they would have done with the Jets and a win next week.
