Around SBN: Why We're Skeptical Of LeBron James

What I like about 14-1 and Bill Polian.

I know may people were pissed about the game on Sunday, and truthfully, I was more pissed I had the flu and couldn't attend the game.  I have what we call "perspective" and, yes, I am a season ticket holder.  This Flu was way worse than a Colts loss, and I am a die-hard fan.

Here's the thing.  These guys are playing well, they proved early they could beat the Jets if they chose to, and management decided to avoid potential injuries over a meaningless games.  I support it.  You guys watched Curtis Painter right?  If Peyton goes down at QB, do you think we even get a sniff of the Super Bowl?  I was beside myself, I was hoping we could Sorgi off IR, or maybe Hermann was willing to suit up from the stands.

If anything, I bet losing pissed them off, and if anything, puts a fire in the bellies.

I want Freeney, Mathis, Brock, Brackett pissed as hell and hungry for a Championship.  I want Manning and Co. to be more focused on a Championship.  You saw what going 18-1 did for NE right?  NOTHING.  NO ONE CARES.

The next game is in Buffalo.  Hell, I hope they start that Drew Willy from Buffalo, so he can play in front of his college town.  I say get the first team some snaps, make sure their timing is good, run some interesting plays, and get your asses in front of a heat lamp!

Let's given Polian some credit here, and you certainly love him when he makes good decisions, so give him some slack for a bad one.  It's not Polian's fault the economy is in the shitter and the city financed a stadium.   I don't go to your work and tell you how to mop the floors.  He is doing is job, what is best for the investment and the health of his team.  I think in a perfect world they would have loved to have gone for the perfect season, but I would much rather have the ring, because New England has more rings than Indianapolis does.  Until we are in the Green Bay/Pittsburgh conversation for most SB Championships, we have far to go regardless.  My dad has made some shitty decisions in his day, but he's still my dad.  You can be pissed, but he is still your dad.  That's how I feel about Polian.  He does what he thinks is best for his team.  You don't have to agree with him, just respect the decision.

I hate the whole I pay my money for this ticket...I expect...blah blah...well they also gave you, what was it,  23 games straight with a win?  How about you call a KC Chief Fan or an St Louis Rams fan and ask if they would appreciate that?  Get a grip and get focused.

Take how pissed you are and make it loud for every playoff game, because in my opinion, there have been way too many fans sitting in their hands and need to show up for games.  That places is not near as loud as the RCA Dome, and the loudest I have heard it was during the Pats game.......

You pissed?  Good.  Bring it as a fan, show up, support the team, and help them win to get to Miami.

I was there the last time.  It was well worth it.

GO COLTS.  Go for the Super Bowl Ring.

lame and you didnt really specify the poll i mean we coulda have been a superbowl champion 19-0 and now since you put 18-1 you basically said we'll win the superbowl because right now we only have one loss

I agree with you masonzbt

After watching MNF I agree with Polian’s strategy even more. The Jets were hitting hard and weren’t going to let up. Would I liked one more drive by Peyton? You bet. But what done is done.

MNF

Yeah, at least two Bears players were carted off the field late in the game. Their season is almost over anyway, but ours is about to get big. I’d hate to have seen two Colts starters carted off late in the game. I just want us to be prepared for the playoffs and healthy at this point. Then we can give it our best shot. Go Colts!

100% agreed

I did want one more drive, but if not… okay.
Better safe than sorry.

and as already pointed out, 18-1 would = SB champs for us.

I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

I'm with you

It’s only been a day and I am more than fed up with all the damn whining. Polian did what he thought was best for the team and that’s all we can really ask of him. Sure he is kind of a douche but that’s nothing new. I appreciate your perspective.

count me in the "I agree" category

Frankly, I surprised by the vindictiveness of many of the fans. Most (I bet) would have agreed a week ago that starting the playoffs healthy is way more important than the regular season record. Even if there is a small chance for injury, there is zero chance is you’re standing on the sideline. Actually, I’ve been impressed with the steady improvement of the O-line and running game recently. And Collie was having his way with the Jets. I was thinking while watching the 3rd quarter that it was unfortunate we had to play at home. It does disrespect the fans a little, but none of us will care when the Colts win the Superbowl.

Hines Ward reaggravated a hamstring. Key players fell all over the fields on Sunday and last night for a lot of teams. Addai was hurt, most of our starters have injuries. Frankly, while I understand the grief over missing the mythical perfect season, I’d rather have a healthy defense and offense when we face the Pats or the Bolts or the Bengals if they prevail or any of the other tough AFC teams in the playoffs. That’s a whole different season and teams play with guts and heart. These are all tough, physical teams we’ll face in the playoffs. If the Jets were so “easy” and not getting to our guys, explain why we were only 9 points up at the half? The Jets were fighting hard and were beginning to penetrate. I don’t like missing the “Pursuit of Perfection”, but I’d rather see a Painter fumble than a Manning season ending broken arm in the Colts “Pursuit of Excellence”.

NE Fan.....(not in general - you in particular)

Man, just when I thought I could turn the other cheek……

To quote The Big Lebowski, “Well, that’s like, your opinion, man.” That’s all it is, an opinion.

I actually invited two of my good friends from NE to come to the Colts game this year, and we had a blast. Fans like yourself make me ill, just as much as the Colts fans who thought they had a right to yell at another human being (my friends) for supporting their team in an opposing city.

So, I will say to you, what I said to the Colts fans who had something to say to my friends. Until you are wearing pads and playing on the field, shut the hell up. You are a fan. Your purpose is to cheer on your team. You do nothing else. Do not take your poorly placed aggression out on this message board, because there are people who dislike messages like this way more than me. You sir, need a hobby. Go pick fights somewhere else school-yard bully, and go flip burgers with the rest of you who think this is how you get a point across.

If the Colts go one and done, so be it. I don’t get to play to make a difference one way or another. I like my team, go like yours somewhere else far away from me. I bet your mom thinks your are annoying too. Must have been a tough holiday for you. Hence your aggression issues.

Go review the tape to figure out how you should respond.

I respect the Pats and the game.

Go Colts!
