An open letter to Bill Polian
Mr Polian,
I respect your ability to evaluate talent, and I believe that your choices over the past decade have built the Colts into the best team in the NFL. That being said, I'm reminded of a quote by Vince Lombardi, "The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor." Commitment to excellence does not include giving up on a game while there is time remaining on the clock. Coach Lombardi also said, "Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit."
As a fan, I support my team. I watch the games. I root for the Colts to win every week they play. When the Colts have played their hardest, and lose, I support my team. When they win, I support my team. When the Colts are winning, and the management of the team sabotages the game by not playing the best people they have, I feel betrayed. I feel like you and Coach Caldwell walked out onto the field and said, "We give up."
In closing, I will still support my team, but in the future, please tell me when I am supposed to cheer them on to victory, and when I should not care. Because If I care, and you give up, it's like a knife in my heart.
Go Colts.

Short, concise, and to the point.
Well done. Particularly this:
“In closing, I will still support my team, but in the future, please tell me when I am supposed to cheer them on to victory, and when I should not care. Because If I care, and you give up, it’s like a knife in my heart.”
