yep im shock with all of this

I was mad on sunday but because of the timing , but addai and Diem injuries could have impacted the decision . But i knew it was coming for weeks and i knew it was the best thing to do under our circumstances.

they are saying that the Kags game was more dangerous and was meaningless

But the jags game gave us the record of 23 straight right? so it wasnt meaningless because that record has never been done so there is the reason why we played that one to win

might have differing lags

and it’s always tough with multiple people. On the couple of podcasts I’ve done it’s tough to get in everything you want to say while not stepping on anyone.

true

that was awful, but it could have something to do with one of them being in Argentina, so we can let it go.

perhaps some of us got to BBS

based on what you guys are saying, it seems like BBS isnt getting into a polian destroying frenzy

by metal_militia on Dec 29, 2009 4:37 PM EST reply actions

Yes, you got to me

Seriously, not much different what I said in the show than what I have said here: The decision to bench starters the way they did was wrong. Polian’s logic flawed. Polian acting like jackhole. Playoff pressure increased. If Colts lose in the playoffs, especially first game, fans will scream for Polian to be fired.

DZ made some great points, BTW. Maybe next time we’ll argue more just for the heck of it. It was a little hard to hear him on my end, which was likely why we talked over each other at times.

So if the Colts lose in the playoffs

it justifies Polian being fired? Im not saying you are advocating this, but to me, thats ludicrous. Rest wasnt an issue in the past (even though the MSM makes it out to be the case). I doubt that will be the downfall of the Colts if they do lose (which I hope doesnt happen). If players are emotionally disturbed by what transpired Sunday, then they shouldnt be playing football. The goal is to the win the superbowl, the most coveted prize in football. That should be enough motivation to play your best.

If the Colts went undefeated, the pressure would have been the same. If the team went 16-0 and lost in round 1, it would have been an embarrassment. Its a double edged sword.

he didn’t say it justified it, just that fans will be asking for it.

Of course, these would be the completely ignorant fans but it still might be true

Not true, Derek

The Jets will be the 5 seed if they get in.

by willyduer on Dec 29, 2009 4:39 PM EST reply actions

But see, I dont think this was an attempt to aliviate pressure

this was simply a move to get the best 22 bodies on the field.

by metal_militia on Dec 29, 2009 4:40 PM EST reply actions

if we lose the first playoff game then

is best to be 14-2 and lose than 16-0 and lose IMHO

by thebossuzzi on Dec 29, 2009 4:40 PM EST reply actions

Not the way they did it

There is more pressure on this team than the 07 Pats to win it all.

The Jets have no prayer of winning a playoff game. Letting them into the playoffs does nothing other than help the 4 seed, which is likely to be the team the Colts face first. Unless they figure out a way to upset the Bengals in their 2nd straight meeting, which works great for the Colts, the Jets getting in is not helpful.

by willyduer on Dec 29, 2009 4:40 PM EST reply actions

it is helpful in the sense that the Jets

get in Pats get 3rd seed even if they drop the last game, and it sinked the Houston and steelers aspirations as well

Wow

The Rockets are trading Tracy McGrady’s expiring contract! Would they want Dunleavy and Murphy for him? That would be awesome!
