Finally! Some actual Colts news: Sam Giguere signed to active roster
Thank god for some actual news about the Colts team!
Lawn Wrangler's obsessive "F5" refreshing of the Colts.com roster page has turned up some juicy fruit. Practice squad wideout Sam Giguere has been added to the active roster. Drew Willy, the mysterious third QB added prior to last week's now-infamous game against the Jets, has been cut.
Added to the practice squad are wideout John Matthews and linebacker Brandon Renkart.
Thanks for finding this Lawn Wrangler. Every time I've tried to move away from talking about Bill Polian, the Jets game, and all the craziness that both have caused, something like this just Michael-Corleones my ass back into the fray.

GUNS!
Is it just me or wasn’t he IRed with a fractured something or other? Also, John Matthews even within arms length of the active roster is making me a little scared.
yep although i broke the cuts lol. and so you know if you havent seen Devon hall was picked up off of waivers and signed by tampa
im sorry this move makes no sense why would we cut our third QB when we need a backup for painter this next game?? i will guarantee we see more roster moves later this week for sure
GO COLTS!!! 09 IS OURS!!!
Need another WR
With Garcon out, and Wayne & Collie likely resting on the sidelines Sunday. Only other WR on roster is Baskett.
Find me on Twitter- http://www.twitter.com/mixfmkyle
ok but realize we still need the QB so why would we cut him??

We only need one QB
and his name is Peyton Manning. Come the playoffs everyone else is just a wasted roster spot.
If we need to we’ll put Pat McAffee out there.
um ok but NO. we are talking about this next game anyway and for that you need a backup for painter cause peyton wont be playing more than a drive

because
if we dont get another WR, then Collie will be out there. Collie will see playing time in the playoffs. Painter will not.
yes but you always want to carry a backup, i am not saying that the WR thing is wrong im just saying for
the same reason they wanted willy on there this last week he should be this week

If Painter can't play an entire game
then we don’t need him. If he gets injured, we put in McAfee or get anybody to do it, really, because I don’t think anybody expects to win this game. I may not even watch. I’m treating it like a preseason game.
Because if I care, it hurts too much.
Check it to Pancakes! Pancakes!
The Colts: We play more football in the fourth quarter than some teams play all year!
Put in
Addai hes 100% for game winning TDs.. Every play would be the Wildcat.

Well, I'll tell ya...
seeing him catch Jay Cutler’s passes on MNF, I was thinking the same thing, tbh. Wow, he looked pretty good.

+1
he definitely has been a good receiver for cutler. But for him the Bears are probably a better spot.. He’d never make it more than #4 here in Indy..
An expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less until they know everything about nothing...
hmmmmm i guess but he had good speed he could have been in the slot when collie took a rest and he coulda returned kicks and punts

I never watched all o Godfather 2
but I do remember the opening Vito’s entire family getting killed. It was brutal, but kinda awesome :-) So I guess I would have to go with the first one since it’s the only I’ve seen.
Peyton Manning makes it Wayne on them hoes!!!!
from phills twitter
Looks like the Colts stick with two kickers. Still not sure if Adam Vinatieri can manage the knee pain. Matt Stover is ready if needed.
GO COLTS!!! 09 IS OURS!!!
I was just going to ask about that
I don’t see the need to keep AV on the roster, honestly. He made a 20 something yarder and missed an extra point. Stover isn’t capable of doing the same thing?
Are they going to play Stover when a “meaningless” kick is needed and bring out old Adam when the game is on the line? That spells TROUBLE big time.
I don't always drink beer....but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.
KO Returns
Maybe adding a little ‘chase’ speed on retun coverage wouldn’t be too bad. Ya think?

I usually look at the Colts.com injury report
around 3:30PT. I have to assume they’re practicing today… they definitely need to move on beyond the distraction!
How can you not love a team that does this?
Cool
I was on the Giguere bandwagon last preseason. I’m glad he has finally made the roster.
"Brett Favre was a man who thought he was retired, but he knew it wouldn't last."
I wasnt reallly all that high on him
He has some great physical tools, but he hasnt really shown that he can harness them yet. He has been relatively invisible the last two years during the preseason. Maybe he made some major strides. We will find out sunday at Buffalo

I was close
Although some rested and one or two of the guys were listed as illness.
In brighter news, Peyton’s rear isn’t hurting anymore.

Guns, cool.......
I’ve been waiting for this. He must have some potential because he has been around in a “Hall like” fashion for awhile. It’s been said that he is rocket fast. Maybe a return guy??
nope he wont :)

I have to admit ignorance of Giguere
Comes from being stuck in Giants/Eagles/Jets territory and being ungodly busy. Can anyone give me a quick rundown of him?
Freakish athlete
But has never played against quality competition.

Absolument!
Saw Giguere play for the “Rouge et Or” (Quebec city university) and the guy was a beast. Considering very few players of that league even makes it to the CFL, Colts must have seen something real special to stick with him, even after two season spoiled by injuries.
As some of my fellow frenchmen football fan, I will be cheering for our boy Sunday afternoon.
Geaux Samuel! (Yep, I’m a Saints’ fan).
Still cautiously optimistic.

Correction
He played for the “Vert et Or”…

This kinda seals it
There is no question that the starters will not only “rest” they probably won’t even suit up. Peyton will to preserve his consecutive starts statistic – but then he’ll sit.
So I want to know, if it is too dangerous to let Manning take the field then why let him start at all? How is a consecutive start statistic more important than an undefeated season?
It makes no sense.

First Play will Prolly be a QB kneel
Just to get the start.

This is all I want to see on the first play of the game on Sunday...
How about if we suite up Mr. Polian and Peyton hands off to B.P on a “FB” dive up the gut to get clobbered by a couple of Linemen and possibly a few Linebackers on a run blitz? Than would everyone forgive Polian for his decision? My goodness, things could be a lot worse…such as being a fan of any of the other 31 teams! For those who disagreed with the call (me included), let’s forgive and forget and look forward to the big picture!
