Quick Recap: Colts 27, Titans 17
This game was a clinic on how to (and how not to) turn yards into points. The Titans outgained the Colts by 15 yards, but lost by 10 points. The reason? Redzone performance and turnovers. The Titans made 5 trips inside the Colts 20. They earned just 17 points from them. The Colts made 4 trips and scored 24 points from them. The Titans turned the ball over twice, while the Colts didn't turn it over at all.
You have to get points when you get in the redzone. Turnovers and redzone FGs will kill you.
Joseph Addai rushed for 79 yards and two TDs, adding 3 receptions for 96 total yards. Pierre Garcon caught 6 passes for 136 yards. Peyton Manning completed 65% of his passes for 270 yards with no turnovers. Clint Session racked up 12 tackles and forced a fumble.
The Colts are 12-0 and have tied the NFL record for consecutive regular season wins.

Close between Pierre Garçon and Joseph Addai
But I went with Addai.

what about session?
Session was almost the singular reason that Chris Johnson didn’t GO OFF… what a game both garcon and addai had, but session deserves this game ball for controlling the league’s leading rusher for a defense that “cant stop the run”.

Addai gets my gameball. This is the first time I’ve voted for him in years. If he keeps playing like this and the o-line plays doesn’t play bad (mediocre will do) then I foresee good things in the future.

Addai was a beast today.
Were the Colts going for a record or something today? I couldn’t tell, the best announcing crews were elsewhere, all of the talk is about the patriots, steelers, and saints… By nice if the Colts could get one win over the past 21 games, or something.
Never doubt Peyton Manning, he’ll make you look silly
Joseph Addai is a good running back.

wait, what?
All I know is that the Titans were on a 5 game winning streak and Vince “Clutch on Fourth Down” Young only wins! 9 in a row for him!!!
They are a RED HOT TEAM!
Go Colts!

The Colts should Sign Dom Rhodes and move to the Dominican Republic and hire Dom Delouise (I think he died) as their radio voice and drink some Dom Perignon to celebrate as they got Dom, Dom, Dom, Dom Dominated all the way to 12-0.
By the way, I think Vince Young is still 9-0 as a starter, losses don’t count when you get ‘injured’ 12 times.

I get tired of his dramatics about personal injury.
I told my wife and son after Young’s big injury meltdown on the sideline that we would see him come back in and lead a scoring drive. I’ve seen it before. This is not because he’s a tough guy, but because he always tries to look like a hero playing through crippling ailments. I suppose he thinks the other team won’t be expecting much after the antics.
O course, he could’ve been truly, seriously hurt and I will feel bad later. But I doubt it.

Garcon.
Played great today. He looked very reliable. He might’ve missed one or two, but I thought they were very difficult catches and mostly something Peyton could have done better on.
by yellowsnow on Dec 6, 2009 4:36 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I gave it to Frenchy
Addai was great but Garcon took his play to a whole different level. If I could I’d split it.
Freeney pulls down another sack, the guy is a machine.

Addai 2nd place for this game, but
He had a bunch of runs over 5 yds, and ran super tough today. Nice routes, too.

Addai
Gameball. He was very reliable today. Picked up the needed yardage to get this team into a good position to win. I won’t go so far as to say we don’t win without Addai, but it would’ve probably been a closer game.
I love this Addai renaissance we’ve got going on here. Isn’t dominating on the ground, but is doing the stuff needed to win.
But I do think I’ll buy a Garçon jersey tomorrow. What a game for him.

I gave mine to Session
But it was more for the defense in general.
Chris Johnson’s line vs. the Colts this year:
36 carries, 147 yards, 4.08 yds/carry. Long of 11.
His previous longest run in a game, not counting the Colts, was 18. Next lowest? 30. That means in 9/12 games this season, he’s had a run of 30+ yards. The Colts never let him get more than 11.
Also, if you take out the Pittsburgh game, the lowest YPC he’s had, minus the Colts, was 4.4 against the Jets. It is, in fact, a myth that the Colts cannot stop the run.

Exactly... Session has come up HUGE the last two games.
Session is starting to look like a pro-bowler. He had some great tackles, a forced fumble, and last weeks key pick! He and the rest of the indy defense, who did great on the leauge’s #1 rusher, gets my vote. Also, good to see Freeny back out there.

Yes!
Session is beginning to be another run stopping LB the Colts have been needing for some time now. Almost makes not drafting one look like a not so misguided idea.

He really is looking good. But if Brackett got no love in 05 or 07, and gets none now
(not sure where the voting stands) I don’t see how a no-name non-captain of a leading D does get into the PB.
Then again, NO FREAKIN’ COLTS WILL PLAY INTHE PRO BOWL!!! BWA HA HA HA. I LOVE IT! NONE OF THE, NOT ONE!!!!
They’ll have bigger fish (land sharks?) to fry the following week.

It's Addai for me
Indy Lori and I kept commenting how we couldn’t believe what he was doing out there. Lots of 5-yarders and several RELIABLE 1st downs (though there was a 4th and inches that scared me a bit). Oh and it was fun to learn that neither Indy Lori nor I am a serial killer… that was nice.
How can you not love a team that does this?

Come on, the 3rd and 10 RUN play for 11 yards in the 3rd quarter?
That was, pardon the term, titanic. And that’s meant in the classic, pre-1912 kind of way. Not the post-1912 epic fail kind of way or the post-1998 epic movie kind of way or the post-Percy Jackson epic badass villain kind of way (for those of you with YA readers at home—it’s a great series).
Okay, one more time—it was big, significant, estimable, great, noteworthy, jumbo, far-reaching, promising, encouraging, demoralizing, unexpected, and holler-inducing.

I would have bet my life it was 2nd and 10 and the network got the down and distance wrong.

CBS was screwing up the down and distance all day.

It was second down.
There is no way they would call a running play on 3rd and 10.

Garcon
probably one of the most consistent games he has had yet. Makes us not miss Gonzo much at all at this point.

but one note on Addai
When did he finally learn to use the stiff arm? He threw at least two really nice ones.. which is something I don’t recall him using much before. Maybe James gave him some pointers….
Oh, and little love for Mike Hart. He did have a couple of nice plays in the first game I remember seeing him in this year.

Hart was great
Nifty little move on a nice catch-and-run. His stat-line was 4 for 11 but he seemed to be running much more effectively than that. Seems to be all the way back from his injury. Keep the man, Polian.
Addai’s stiff-arm turned into a horsecollar penalty, even better.

Anybody notice the animated exchange btw Peyton and Collie?
think it was in teh first half. Peyton appeared to be upset with something Collie had done, but the TV brodcast did not show it.
by MadStork on Dec 6, 2009 8:26 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Yes, I saw it, and #18 was right
I believe it happened on the play over the middle, a third down, Collie running a slant or an in. Finnegan was molesting him, but since it was Ron Winters’ crew they don’t know their asses from their elbows and thus didn’t call anything. I was surprised Collie didn’t extend more, but I sometimes question whether he’s really up to doing that over the middle. Collie was pleading for a flag, and I thought Peyton was telling him in effect STFU, just make the catch.
Collie had already screwed the pooch on the Colts’ first play of the day, and only Garcon’s alert catch turned that into something positive.
Look, since teams started jamming Collie and playing him physical—and Finnegan and Griffin are both very physical players—he’s been very ordinary, not nearly the second coming of Brandon Stokely. I think taking him in the fourth round was a steal, because I believe Collie can adapt. But adapt he must, and I believe that was the gist of Peyton’s ass chewing.
Because Manning is merely the smartest QB in the league, he went back to Collie three times in the second half, once for a TD, the other two times for first downs. I imagine he does not want Collie to get down on himself, so he picked him up. On the touchdown play Collie was the second or third option, but he kept going, and Peyton found him.
At first I thought it wouldn’t matter if Gonzalez came back, Collie was playing that well. However, he has hit the wall a bit, and he’s got to adjust. The Colts know he’s going to be an asset, so they’ll make sure he does. It’s fortunate that as Collie’s slipped a bit, Garcon has picked his game up big-time.
That kid from Florida got a game off from his coach for the eye poke on the Georgia player. Think Fisher will sit Tony Brown accordingly?
The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in the stars, but in ourselves.

Peyton gets in Collie's face
because he really likes him as a player and wants to see him improve. Collie is a fourth-round rookie, he’s got a ton of potential.

VY's cheap shot on the INT
Okay folks, How on God’s green earth is what VY did after his pick in the 1st quarter (the play on which he hurt his leg) not TWO penalties?
The sequence: He threw a pick and continued out of bounds. The interceptor ran back and was himself puched out of bounds. Whistle. VY comes charging in from the sideline and rams him with his shoulder pads.
(A) VY was no longer a viable player, right? and (B) the ball carrier was OB—play is over and dead. Maybe it’s only a penalty when you hit him FURTHER OB, and not back onto the field? Of course that’s because once you are on your team’s bench, you cannot come back onto the playing field to tackle people…. can you? When I saw him writhing I was almost glad, and that’s not how I usually operate.
Addai looked like a monster—I was really pulling for him to outrun CJ. I LOVED LOVED LOVED that 3rd and 10 handoff to Addai for 11. man, was that sweet or what!

Good gameball candidates
Addai and garcon had great days. Nobody’s been choosing the d so I chose Session. He kept Chris Johnson infront of him the whole game. The forced fumble was huge. I love what this guys brings to our defense.

And Reggie...
He’s been constantly double covered for the past month and has not been racking up yards and points at his usual pace. Reggie wayne had a beautiful run-after-catch where he juked like 3 guys for 15 additional yards. Also when we were having trouble getting out of our own endzone Reggie came back for an eight yard pass that didnt go for a 1st but got us out of harms way.
