Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

What needs to change in the Colts "experience".

I have posted before about this topic, and it is something I believe needs to change, but a change driven by the fans and with the help of the Colts marketing department to help solidify.  Lucas Oil Stadium this year pailed in comparison with the RCA Dome when it came to gameday magic.  I truly believe Home Field Advantage was a wash this year, and as far as I was concerned the Colts played 16 away games.  We were not present, not loud, not into it.  Granted, I sit in the 500 level, so I miss some exposure, but this is a consensus I get from many fans.  It feels disconnected based on the vastness of this new building, which I do love.

The Colts need some things that are uniquely ours.  Our Touchdown song is a rip off.  You know how many teams use that song, long before we did?  Not that there is any kind of ownership, but copying is not what I want for our team.

The uniforms are my favorite in the league, very old school.  Respectable.  Traditional.

The first down chant, which is essentially no longer, was lame to begin with.  No support from the organization to make it work.

Ball State fans "chirp" on kick offs, Notre Dame fans rattle their keys, what do Colts fans do to set up apart and make us unique?

How is our tailgating experience?  What things would you like to see added, changed, supported, created?  I love the fact Green Bay has bathrooms on the outdoors of the stadium just for tailgating.  Nice touch.

What songs should we be playing overhead?  Anyone tired of some of the things played?  Suggestions?  What songs should be played at what times?

What should be on the jumbo-tron or scrawling boards to get the crowd hyper, or help coordinate a chant/cheer?  What would it be?  A rip off of the J E T S we tried?  Yikes, that made me sad when we did that.

How about a cheer on defense lead by cheerleaders from both side of the stadium, something like "IN"  "D (as in defense people)".  Should the cheerleaders be more involved in leading chants rather than being irrelevent?

This small forum is to take in your suggestions in the off-season to collectively send to the Colts Marketing Department (I know how to get it to them), so we can start to create an experience Colts fans MUST have.  To make Colts games the most fun and motivating as possible for our players.  I want fans from other teams talking about how much fun it is to be a Colts fan.  Let's add more value to Sundays and get our team excited to be Colts players.

These are wishes and dreams, but it can easily become reality.  New traditions start here, and if you like some of the old traditions - let me hear about those as well.  It's our team to support, and an even longer offseason.  I look forward to your feedback.

One thing I *wouldn't* want to see/hear

is the cheer like the Steelers fans were all doing last night – the high school baseball chant, “Here we go, Steelers, here we go!” LAME!

We have the touch down Monkey

other than that we uphold our class and try not be make assholes out of ourselves. I do miss the Dome and the tight community that it had. God, it was loud in there.

Touchdown Monkey

Feedback I get about the monkey is not good. It’s kind of an irrelevent figure for a COLTS team. How did monkeys get in the mix? I certainly think whatever we “create” should steer us clear of making assholes of ourselves, but there needs to be something to create that total sense of community. European Soccer has this down to a science, sad we as Americans cannot be that passionate.

Not really related

But this is the best kickoff chant of them all, and it isn’t really close.

Let's Go Horse

There is something to this that could be built upon. I hate the C-O-L-T-S chant. Why don’t we just all be Jets fans, and save the hassle! Ha ha. I am really hoping to push for some unique offerings setting Indy apart from any other franchise.

Great ideas thus far, and keep them coming.

Correction

The youtube link isn’t working.
Just go to youtube and enter ‘Kull The Conqueror’
Then select the version that is the Title Song.
