raise Saturday's offer
Now that Marv is moving on, we should try to sign the most important cog in our offense (not named Peyton). I m worried without the veteran leadership of Saturday Peyton will get hit a lot (not sacks, hits). Pocket presence has afforded Peyton fewer sacks, but hits after throw takes its toll. Jamey, pollack, and others are just not there yet… I m sorry but it’s a hard fact.
I couldn't agree more!!!
Pay Saturday some money, for crissakes!!

Continuity is a double edged sword for a franchise. For a great franchise, it ensures a legacy of winning is passed down between players, and that no one becomes bigger than the team. On the other hand, continuity can lead to a team getting stuck in sentiment, unwilling to make the hard choices that winning requires.
Regardless of what uniform Marvin Harrison wears next or any other season, he is and will always be remembered as a Colt.
Marvin Harrison is not the Indianapolis Colts. Jeff Saturday is not the Indianapolis Colts. Peyton Manning is not the Indianapolis Colts. The Indianapolis Colts are bigger than any one player, no matter how decorated.
Today, we wish Marvin Harrison the best in whomever he plays for next, because that’s just what you do. It was time for him to go. With him, the last remaining link to the pre-Polian years is gone.
In best naval tradition, we wish Marvin clear skies and calm seas.

well put
I think you have it exactly. And to be honest I’d rather see a player leave when they start to decline rather than having to pay them money they really aren’t worth anymore. That is the unfortunate side effect of the cap.
A lot of us hope he would retire a colt… Maybe after another ring, but this is his living and he has to do what he thinks is best for him.
