On a non-free agency note....
According to Perezhilton.com and Us Weekly, Tom Brady got married Thursday night to the insanely hot Gisele Bundchen. There had been rumors of this happening several times before but apparently it happened at a small reception in California.
Here's hoping to a new child, wife, QB controversy, and a bum knee distracting Brady enough that the Colts can maybe pick him off a couple times when we meet this season.

He’s a paper-bagger. Her man face is almost as bad as Sarah Jessica Parker’s (although her’s looks more like a foot). Bridget Moynahan is so much hotter than Gisele it’s not even funny.

This is a ridiculous post! Why waste everyone’s time with a post like this when we all know he’s the most mentally tough athlete in football with Manning a close second!! And the best part is is that it will probably be made a recommended fanpost because you probably know bigblueshoe! Come back to me when the Colts sign Haynesworth-I’m hearing some really exciting things in the works-that’s all i’m going to say for now.
Colts Rule. Pats suck.

You are really the last one who should complain about
what you call a “ridiculous” post. Puhleez.

Oh jeez, “Manning a close second”???
I dont think the colts will need him to have a rough year, but that just might happen you know?

Although I hate his guts, Brady IS great
But that kind of injury, and the lost rhythm and practice time that go along with it, are going to make next year rough for him, at least at the start. Of course, time will tell, but he’s gonna have some painful moments, that’s just a fact.

Brady is done just like his 18*andDONEwithoutCHEATING team
No QB has ever been the same after a serious knee injury, just look at Dan Marino. After he got injured he only won 1 playoff game for the rest of his carrier.
9 of 10 NFL athletes who have injuries like this are never the same, because they want to do every thing they can to prevent the injury from happening again. Just look at Marvin Harrison, he was never the same after he had 2 surgeries on his knee.
Brady’s had like 8 surgeries on his knee
The older an athlete who gets a serous injury like this is the less likely they are to be good again. And well Brady is 32, that’s kind of old for the NFL
Kudos to Bill Polian this season in free agency

Just when I thought I couldn't like you any less
you evaluate QB play by playoff wins
You know Marino made the Pro Bowl in both of the seasons immediately after the year he missed most of with a torn Achilles.
and that’s not even true that he only won 1 playoff game after, he won 3.

I don’t even know why I reply to you but I guess I’m just doing it for my own amusement.
I can name a few people who have come back just fine from an ACL surgery:
Carson Palmer
Donovan McNabb
Philip Rivers
Edge
Dom
Ronnie Brown
That’s all I could think of off of the top of my head real fast. But regardless, I’m batting 1.00. So much for that “9 out of 10” talk.

Ehhh
I’d probably take Carson Palmer out for now. He has a little ways to go before he could be considered back.
And by the way, you left out the best one. Terry Allen tore the ACL in both his knees and had the best years of his career by far. Terry was awesome as a Redskin.
Oh, and the jury’s still out on McGahee too.
Jim Sorgi runs a 4.6 40. That's all I've got to say about that.

Carson Palmer came back pretty strong, he just dealt with other injuries that hindered his comeback.

Ok I remembered a few more…
Jerry Rice
Frank Gore
Willis McGahee
Jamal Lewis
Correll Buckhalter
Lee Evans
Braylon Edwards
Antonio Cromartie
and now I give up

And about the Colts picking Brady off the next time they meet
It would be nice to see the Colts pick Brady off a few times. But since he injured his knee, I’d say it’s more likely that the Colts will get some sacks on him instead of maybe picks. Or I could be wrong, the Colts could get a bunch of sacks and pick on Brady. But either way you look at it when the Colts play the Pats next season, they will be more likely to get a higher number of sacks as apposed to picks on Brady because of his bum knee.
PS.
Kudos to Tom Brady and his new marriage. I hope Gisele doesn’t end up like Tom Brady’s last girlfriend.

how serious
It also depends on how serious the injury is.. and how well they respond to treatment. Yes lots of people have had an ACL successfully treated.. and lots haven’t or only somewhat. And age DOES and previous abuse does make a BIG difference it how well you come back.
An expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less until they know everything about nothing...

Correct
A torn ACL is listed as a torn ACL whether or not you jack up the miniscus. The miniscus is probably the most important part of the entire knee. It also happens to be the most delicate and difficult to repair.
Jim Sorgi runs a 4.6 40. That's all I've got to say about that.
by monstersbox on Feb 27, 2009 4:04 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
plus didn't he also jack up his MCL?
either way it’s hard to come back from a knee injury. I broke the top of my leg inside my knee joint (and had a lot of soft tissue damage) 12 years ago and it took me a couple of years to have the confidence to jog again. After sitting on a plane for more than 2 hours it take me a few swings of the leg to loosen it up. Going downstairs my knee clicks, crunches, cracks or just plain aches – every single day.
I know professional athletes have a mental and physical toughness – not to mention access to world-class trainers and therapists – that we regular people don’t have, but they also operate in extraordinary circumstances. It will be interesting to see if Brady is a Culpepper or a Palmer.
by LovinBlue on Feb 27, 2009 4:20 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Who, Palmer?
Palmer and Culpepper did basically did the same thing, completely destroyed their knee. In Palmer’s case, he tore his ACL and MCL (just like Brady), but also dislocated his kneecap and had other ligament damage and torn cartilage. Basically after his knee was twisted and the damage was done to his knee, the top of his knee separated from the bottom and all the connecting cartilage was ripped apart. Culpepper was by far the worst. He not only tore his ACL, MCL, cartilage, but he also tore his PCL. Only 5% of knee injuries are as bad as what he had. And for someone whose game relied on mobility, and considering his size and stress put on his knee, it’s actually a miracle he’s came back from it at all. His was also one of the worst of the bunch because he was running at the time. The other two happened when they were stationary. Rivers recovered as quickly as he did because the damage was limited to his ACL and it was “only” a partial tear.
They had to pretty much completely reconstruct Palmer’s and Culpepper’s knees from scratch. It’s not as prominent in Palmer’s game as it was in Culpepper’s because he wasn’t as mobile of a QB. But that was the knock on Palmer for about half a season when he came back. He was obviously tense when the pocket would begin to collapse, with good reason, I would be too. The hit took him completely unaware and was on his first pass. By the way, that hit was 10 times dirtier than the “dirty” hit on Brady.
Brady did completely tear both the ACL and MCL, but luckily (and yes, even though I hate the Pats I never wish something like this on anyone) it was limited to those ligaments and there was no cartilage damage. He twisted his knee, but it didn’t separate.
So to put it into perspective, Rivers did have a partial tear, and was able to recover quickly. Both Palmer and Culpepper both showed the major advances in medicine and came back when a couple years earlier, they would have been out of football and probably had consistent and painful problems the rest of their lives. Brady’s, although not as severe was still a very severe injury. The injury itself was bad, but then he had the infection. And if you remember the complications Peyton had from a simple procedure that was complicated by infection, you begin to understand the franchising of Cassel. It wasn’t a strategic trade move, they might need him.
And you’re right, all four of them were listed as “ACL injuries”. But there were definite differences in the extent of them.
Jim Sorgi runs a 4.6 40. That's all I've got to say about that.

He’ll have a tough season in the same sense Manning had a tough season this year – four or five games to start feeling it again and then hello 3,000 yards and 25TDs.
He’s Tom Brady, not Vince Young. He can handle it.
