Cutler Wants Out
This is hilarious and sad all at the same time.
Hilarious because McDaniels is a boob and never deserved to become a head coach in the first place. Congratulations on pissing off your franchise QB and completely ruining the situation you were hired into.
Sad because Cutler is a good and improving QB who deserves better. Here's to hoping he stays away from the AFC South!

Not just McDaniels
Culter is to blame as well. If McDaniels only listened to trade offers, what is he to do? Not listen?
Cutler is a good qb, but he’s not Manning or Brady material. Those are the types of players you don’t even listen offers for.
I agree with you though….. I don’t know why anyone thinks this guy McDaniels is a genius. He had Brady throwing to Randy Moss, Welker, and Stallworth. That makes him a genius? He wasn’t ready to be a head coach.

Not Listen
If you’ve (the Broncos) already decided that Cutler is your franchise QB, then you don’t listen to trade offers. Plus, I think they did a lot more than just listen.

I don’t necessarily think “the Broncos” decided that Cutler was their franchise QB. Of course, it depends on who you consider “the Broncos.” I think before McDaniels came to town and when Cutler was drafted in the first place he was obviously locked as a “franchise guy” (and he was most certainly Shanahan’s guy). However, with the new coach as you guys have said, came completely new opinions from outside the Broncos organization. So I wouldn’t blame the Broncos persay or fault them for wanting to trade their “franchise guy” when a lot of the people involved in this issue were new faces at their respective positions on the team. Apparently McDaniels wanted something different and did do more than just listen. Check this out (quote below from linked article)…
“I went in there with every intention of solving the issue, being a Bronco, moving forward as a Bronco,” Cutler said. "We weren’t in there but about 20 minutes, [McDaniels] did most of the talking and as far as I’m concerned, he made it clear he wants his own guy. He admitted he wanted Matt Cassel because he said he has raised him up from the ground as a quarterback. He said he wasn’t sorry about it. He made it clear that he could still entertain trading me because, as he put it, he’ll do whatever he feels is in the best interest of the organization.

Cutler
the guy is from a high school about 20 minutes away from here. i’ve heard from people around here that the guy has talent, but his main problem is that he’s dumb as a box of rocks. i think this is pretty evident in some of the things he says and the way he acts. “i have a better arm than john elway”. also, he’s being a big freaking baby about this whole situation. i mean, i can understand being a little upset, but selling your house and not going to any team meetings. i think the broncos have decided that he’s not the guy that’s their franchise qb and are ready to move on.

"dumb as a box of rocks"
He went to Vanderbilt, which DOES NOT cut athletes a break. You still have to meet their requirements for enrollment, which are not low.
Not only that, he stayed 4 years and graduated.
Sorry, no way. Maybe no common sense, but he’s far from stupid.

I was thinking the same thing. Vanderbilt is a pretty strict school.
This line will remain in my signature until the Colts draft Rashad Jennings in 2009.
Oh and I write words and stuff for Stampede Blue.

It's even worse as a grad school.
I have a few friends who went to Vandy School of Law. Most professors there only give one A per class, regardless of how many students might be deserving.

true
I kind of just wanted to say that someone was dumb as a box of rocks. That seems to happen every now and then. But seriously, I don’t really think the guy has the maturity level to play in the nfl. I hope that doesn’t sound too espn, but I think some of the things he says/does do show that.

TOO YOUNG
McDaniels is clearly proving He doesn’t have the maturity to be the main man yet. It sounds like he was a little insecure in the meeting with his “my way or the highway” attitude. Of course Jay Cutler is immature, but he’s not being paid millions to lead a group of grown men. So glad the Colts hired someone who can use WISDOM when leading a franchise. Something these younger coaches seem to lack. (ala Lane Kiffen)

with my brother living in denver for years and being one of the biggest bronco fans alive saying he is distraught is an understatement
I dont think describing cutler as being stupid is the right adjective…and hes a hothead and immature BUT what an utter fool josh mcdaniels is. I dont know but I think Im taking the hotheads side on this. you got a top 5 or maybe top 3 as far as arms…in the nfl qb and lets see how many teams would die to have a 25 year qb whose a hothead…and john elway was not a hothead? forgive my memory but this the guy who stated he would not play for baltimore and I think he turned out to be a very good qb with his wishes even though it thoroughly pissed off us colts fans. same with eli manning refusing to play for the chargers. once again..great move dad! duh to all of this. you simply dont piss off your franchise leader whether hes a hothead or not.
at first I thought the hire of josh daniels was great because the broncos wouldnt be any different on the offensive side for which they could be explosive and thought maybe just maybe they could hire a good d guy. the problem is josh mcdaniels wants cutler to resemble goody two shoes tom brady. AINT GONNA HAPPEN and mcdaniels is going to be looking for a new job soon if this implodes like I think it will. you think the broncos d was bad last year…without cutler the d AND the O will be bad. its denver. its not jax. those fans are diehard. I realize we probably dont know the real story to any of it and the media hasnt helped one bit but in the long run if the broncos trade cutler they are IDIOTS. Id get rid of daniels before Id trade cutler.
is simms going to lead them??? thats like having sorgi as the colts qb.
if Im bolan or bolen or however you spell his name Im thinking I just hired an idiot

Eh
Cutler’s right, McDaniels is an idiot. They weren’t listening to trade offers, McDaniels wanted Cassel. The Chiefs and Pats moved too fast for them so they got sloppy and pissed him off. McDaniels had numerous opportunities to correct the situation. And you know what dude? Suck it up and admit you were wrong. If Cutler wasn’t on the team last year, they’d easily be 4-12.
On the flipside, Cutler is kind of being bitch about the situation. I’m sorry dude, but you took Jake Plummer’s job. You were the Cassel in that situation. And Plummer was a great QB. In fact, Plummer was 39-15 as Denver’s starter and you’re 17-20. Just like Tom Brady straight up jacked Bledsoe’s job. I mean Bledsoe was the reason they even went to the SB that year. We don’t need a minute by minute update on how you’re still ticked off. We get it, but don’t be annoying about it.
And then on the flipside of the flipside, I think Cutler IS actually taking into account the Plummer/Brady Broncos/Patriots relationship. Those teams screwed over legit starting QBs. I don’t blame him at all for wanting to get out of that situation. Bledsoe and Plummer gave some of their best years to those franchises and got crapped on at the end. So Cutler should suck it up while Denver rebuilds and waste the prime of his career until they can get a decent team in place and replace him with someone McDaniels thinks is better and less expensive than Cutler down the line? Screw that.
What happened to Bledsoe and Plummer? They were pretty much considered very good to elite QBs on teams with problems. Stuck it out and then got dropped. Plummer said screw you and retired after being traded to TB and Bledsoe went to 2 teams that were rebuilding after wasting his prime with a team that finally started getting good and gave him the boot. Can’t blame Cutler for not feeling like he has job security and actually wants to win. Right now it’s pretty much like he’s just the QB while they figure their crap out and he’ll be replaced when he’s about 30 to a team that isn’t very good.

well he wasn't really the cassel/brady
he was a first round draft pick, and plummer’s record was boosted by a great broncos defence.
plummer was never that great.
brady and cassel were late round picks, who only got chances because of injuries. cutler started to play in 2006 because plummer was playing poorly

You won't quench my fanhood
Of Jake the Snake. Pretty harsh to say a guy that played for Arizona (when Arizona was this year’s Detroit for basically 50 years) and expect him to be awesome. As soon as he went to Denver he had very good years and performed well. And Cassel I’ll agree with about the injury situation, but that was with New England, I’m talking about them moving Cutler out of Denver for him. And yes, originally Brady played due to injury, but Bledsoe wasn’t hurt when he came back and was handed a clipboard. He wasn’t injured when he took the same hit that ruptured his artery and stood jumped up on the sidelines and showed his emotion and amped up his team. And Plummer may have played poorly but he was still 7-4. Cutler came in and went 2-3. And Cutler was drafted in the first round after Plummer put up a 13-3 season. He became expendable, and that’s my point. Cutler feels he’ll be expendable. You could sort of compare the Rivers Brees situation, but Brees was a FA. He probably would’ve been traded if he wasn’t though.

You’ve basically got an immature idiot trying to tell a vastly more talented immature idiot that it’s his way or the highway.
Cutler might not be the smartest tool in the shed, but he apparently is a much better judge of ability than his new head coach.
