Aaron Curry is proving he's more than just a great ball player
This story makes me wish that the Colts had a higher pick with the possibility of grabbing Curry....what a great story and a great idea.

Yes. Awesome story.
And who drafted him #1 for the Lions in our mock draft? Oh, yes, that would be me. Then getting Sanchez at #20. I am anticipating the call with the offer of GM from Detroit real soon, but I will have to turn it down. I like my job too much, and who wants to live in Detroit, anyway?
Seriously, great story. Good find, indy15.
BTW,
Can you just imagine what a dream trip this has to be for that boy? Most of us would love to go to the draft next week, let alone be invited by an NFL top draft prospect and hang with him. When you consider what this young man has been through, he is probably glad to be alive. To have his cancer in remission, this is just icing on the cake. Pretty cool.

Why are only 9 players invited to the draft? That number seems a bit small.
This line will remain in my signature until the Colts draft Rashad Jennings in 2009.
Oh and I write words and stuff for Stampede Blue.
thought i was the only one that considered that 9 were few
and your fav player of the draft for the colts declined the invitation

Probably
because he didn’t want to sweat it out…

apparently the league doesn't (or didn't) like having Quinn-Rodgers situations
though then they shouldn’t have invited Freeman who might drop into the second round.

“This story makes me wish that the Colts had a higher pick with the possibility of grabbing Curry”
The only chance for that to happen will be to trade the 2nd overall pick with the rams, who are interested in trading. However, its near to impossible

According to the draft value chart,
which NFL executives go by in making their trades in the draft, we would have to trade every pick of our draft to the Rams and would still be under value. Not that that means it would go down like that if we did, but it’s just an observation.

Our numerical value for each draft choice.
680, 310, 136, 49, 29.4, 16.6 and 3.8. I don’t believe we can trade our compensation pick. Total=1,224.8
Rams first round pick alone, numerically valued at 2,600.
We would have to trade future draft picks, but since we all know that next year we will land a late first round position as well, it is hard to swing the value. Or we could trade some players. But who? Some fans would apparantly be glad to dish Addai…
I agree with you, Piojocuau. It would be nearly impossibe to do.

And it would be dumb to do...
But guys with this kind of character are who I want representing this city and wearing the horseshoe. It doesn’t hurt that he may be the best player in the draft either :)
He's definitely Colts material. Definitely.
