colts sign new center from arena league

The Indianapolis Colts have signed center Kyle DeVan. The 6-2, 295-pounder had been the starting center for the Boise (Idaho) Burn of arenafootball2.

There was no announcement from the Colts, but the Burn confirmed the transaction on the team's website. DeVan worked out for the Colts Tuesday morning and signed his contract in the afternoon.

"I'm excited to get another opportunity to play in the NFL and am ecstatic about joining the Colts organization,'' DeVan said.

DeVan, who started 37 games at Oregon State, spent a portion of the 2008 season on the New York Jets practice squad.
