Mocking Dan says:
He’s a short but quick corner from Auburn. He’ll be good covering the slot. He really gets after the ball.

Analysis
Positives: Short, but has a legitimate NFL build. … At least adequate deep speed. … Flashes an aggressive initial hand punch at the line of scrimmage. … Good hip swivel to turn and run with receivers. … Good agility and quickness out of his breaks to close on the ball. … Peeks back at the quarterback and is willing to gamble. … Can adjust his body in space to make the athletic interception. … Rides receivers throughout the route and isn’t intimidated by bigger receivers. … Reliable open-field tackler who flashes some pop. … Good agility to avoid blocks.
Negatives: Might be too short to handle working on the outside. … Good open-field tackler who flashes some pop, but his physicality hasn’t translated into forced fumbles. … Can be too aggressive. … Has a tendency to bite on the fake and lacks the elite burst to recover when beaten initially. … Fought a nagging hamstring pull as a junior.

People siad his scouting report is eh. I dont like this pick
Draft Countdown
Strengths:
Above average athleticism…Okay speed…Quick with a burst…Smooth with fluid hips…Great hands and ball skills…Decent leaping ability…Is technically sound…Good footwork and uses his hands well…Physical and aggressive…Sufficient instincts and awareness…Solid production.
Weaknesses:
Does not have the ideal height or bulk that you look for…Isn’t very strong…Not a great tackler…Struggles to get off blocks…Won’t offer much in run support…Takes too many chances…Durability concerns.
Notes:
Saw extensive action as a backup in 2006 and was even named to the Coaches Freshman All-SEC Team…Assumed a starting job in 2007 and received the Zeke Smith Award, which is presented to Auburn’s Defensive Player of the Year…Was hampered by a hamstring injury and regressed a bit in 2008…Opted to leave school with eligibility remaining even though he hadn’t maximized his draft stock…Upside is limited by average measurables…Profiles as a backup at the next level.

Overview
An undersized cover corner, Powers quickly proved to be one of the better young corners in the SEC, earning SEC all-freshman team notice in 2006. Powers enjoyed the best season of his career as a sophomore, earning the Zeke Smith award as Auburn’s top defensive player after registering 63 tackles and leading the Tigers with four interceptions. After establishing himself as a playmaker, opposing offenses elected not to challenge him as often in 2008 and that fact, along with a nagging hamstring injury, limited Powers to only 47 tackles and two interceptions. Scouts like Powers’ experience (23 starts), production (136 tackles and six interceptions) and athleticism, but his lack of size and relatively disappointing junior season likely makes him a mid-round prospect, at best.
Ran 4.49 40 at the Combine.

I'm not a fan now
I need to see him tackle in preseason if I will ever like him.

Analysis from NFL,com
Pick Analysis: The undersized cover man from Auburn has outstanding ball skills and awareness. Although he lacks ideal size, Powers’ cover skills are exceptional. He should develop into a solid nickel corner in a season or two.
we only need him for depth.
I already like him better than Tim Jennings

Jennings gets cut, Foster to practice squad
As long as we don’t draft another corner that’s what I would expect.

What about Marlin Jackson?
He’s in the last year of his contract and you know Polian’s MO is to draft a potential replacement a year before the contract expires especially if they have doubts about being able to retain them. What does it say about Jennings and Hughes? That they both suck enough that we had to draft a corner in rd.3 when other area’s of need could have been addressed.
could be
I think Marlin and Jennings are fighting for one job and both could lose

I'm hoping
Marlin and Jennings are not considered one in the same, but that’s just me.
I like the pick just because I don’t really like the guys we have behind Marlin and Hayden. Other areas of need? I really don’t mind sprucing up the CB position. I’ve been maligned on its real depth for a while now.
oh yeah they aren't the same
Marlin is clearly better, but he’d also cost more and he has the lower ceiling because he’s a bit slow, while Jennings is blazing fast, but hasn’t put it all together yet.

Jarraud Powers
May be a CB and may even start one day, but he’s not a replacement for Marlin Jackson imo.
I agree
Just watched highlights on youtube and one video he got the interception because the QB over threw his receiver and on the other video he got beat on the receiver didn’t bring it in and he tipped it to himself. Good athletic play, but he was in bad position to begin with.
