So they draft Brown to sit the bench? Clearly BP felt is was RB (read Addai) that was the problem and NOT the O-Line.

Yes
He felt that not having two backs in a platoon was part of the issue. Big deal, why would that be such a surprise when we won the Super Bowl with the platoon system?
I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation
You are acting the same way
They stated that they need 2 back to be “the Guy”, and that that is a league wide thing. If we can have a rushing attack like the Panthers did, or the Giants, I’m pretty happy. Oh, and all three of our guys can run, catch, and block.
I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation
He seems like the Colts kind of guy
But we still need OL and LB (and another DT for that matter) a LOT more than a WR. I hope we get our guy in a few picks.

I'm hoping
For Phillips or Brinkley with our second pick. They’re still both there I think. Brinkley/Phillips or King.

Perfect slot guy
I love this pick.

I think MRW is right
Sadly. They’ll hold onto Addai until his contract is up, offer him 3 or 4 million for 3 seasons or so, and when Brown’s contract runs out, they’ll probably let Addai walk. But I think Addai’s still around until Brown’s contract runs out if he doesn’t want a huge salary.

I really feel that guys like Duke Robinson (OG) and Alex Mack (OC) are far and away better players. These are two of the best interior linemen to declare for the draft in a loooong time. They fullfill a need in Oline for us and they are extremely talented. Therefore Robinson and Mack would be better picks than Nicks or Britt.
Mack and Duke are two of the best interior linemen in several years to declare for the draft. Duke almost declared as a Junior last year as a GUARD! You are out of your mind to take Nicks over those guys.

Also, its clear that Polian views Addai as the problem and not the O-Line. That be said if Addai comes back healthy then we have a good 3rd down back. What I love about Brown is that he hits the hole fast and uses power which was always something Addai lacked.
As a matter of fact
He said matter of factly that Addai is still the number one back, and that Donald Brown will only enhance his career

Not true
A lot of times teams put their best CB in the slot like the Colts do with Marlin Jackson, but if a team suffers even 1-2 injuries at CB… well yeah you can get some scrubs covering the slot.

Marlin is unusual though
because he’s a bit slow but a great tackler.
Unless they are facing a Welker most teams keep their top CBs on the outside.

Bamock’s exactly right when he says he could be there in the 7th or UDFA. He’s too small to be a DT anywhere but here, and he’s too slow and short to be a DE in a 3-4 or 4-3.
We seriously could come out of this with Moala, Taylor, King. That’d be a hell of a draft.

Chappell on Collie...
Collie might not have the name recognition of several players at his position, but he has the stats. At BYU in 2008, he had 105 receptions, 1,538 yards and 18 TDs. The yardage led the nation. He should be a nice fit for QB Peyton Manning, and has the versatility to line up either out wide or in the slot. In 37 games at BYU, Collie set school records with 215 receptions, 3,255 yards and 30 TDs. Somewhere, Manning is smiling.
Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

This is the biggest
Our interior has been since…well I don’t remember it being bigger. We just went up 50 lbs on average pretty much on our DTs with two dudes that are considered great run stuffers. Our defense could be CRAZY good next year.
I tip my hat to Caldwell. I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better draft so far.
Jim Sorgi runs a 4.6 40. That's all I've got to say about that.
Don't forget to give a lot of the credit
to Polian.
Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.
Man, I need a life...
Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Every time the Colts have played the KC Chiefs in the playoffs, they have gone on to at least the AFC Championship game.
No doubt
But for some reason I don’t see this draft happening with Tony. That’s not a knock on Tony, but for some reason I think Caldwell might’ve pushed his thoughts pretty hard.

Well
Not really Caldwell, but Coyer. And Caldwell hiring Coyer was a great move. So I guess what I’m saying is props to Caldwell for hiring Coyer so Coyer could push his thoughts on how he thinks the D-line should be.

played with collie
i played with collie prior to both he and i playing at different colleges. you guys just got one of the smartest, most versatile football players/athletes i have ever seen. incredibly underrated.
has anyone picked Rahad Jennings?
I just cant find him…

Jennings, Brinkley, or King falling to us in the 6th would be amazing.

I love Joseph
but if Jennings is there that’s too much value to pass on.

Too many Rashad’s in this draft.
Jets getting Shonn Greene was a good pick, but Sanchez was terrible. Just terrible.
Sanchez is the kind of player
that needs a veteran qb to learn how to play and behave in the nfl, specially after his lone year as a starter. He will have a very tough year, the kind of year that creates draft busts

yeah with Greene they can tell Jones to shove it
they have a viable thunder/lighting so Thomas has to step into line or hold out and hope they’ll cut or trade him.

jones has had one good year
and it was behind a very talented and expensive offensive line. in chicago he was sharing carries with ced benson, and after what he did in cincinnati at the end of last year, I’m starting to think Jones wasn’t exactly carrying the team. actually, both of the Jones brothers kind of piss me off.

So
Cincy drafted Huber in the 5th. I told you he is a beast. And I guess that’s a great PR move drafting the hometown boy with the golden leg.
I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation
OTs
I like Parish, Murtha and Watkins
