KUNTZ!
Straight out of Roncalli. Said he was gonna rip off a players head for insulting Notre Dame and got 2 sacks and a pick in that game. Rocks a crazy hair style. Good size for a UT or a NT.
He won’t make the roster but I’m pumped to see him at minicamp and training camp.

Kuntz
Was a pretty good run-stuffer at ND…could rush the passer inconsistently. He’s got a decent shot at beating out Foster.

You mean
A decent shot at beating out Dawson. Foster will be a starter next year and a great defensive tackle. Dawson is a tweener.

I think Foster was the best DT on the roster last year while playing out of position
if you count Brock as a DE

for serious
last year they limited Mathis’ snaps in favor of Brock. If the cap was tight I could see it, but they won’t have any issues getting guys signed.

QB Tyler Lorenzen?
To the Jags. Is he related to everyone’s favorite wide load QB?

Twice named 1st Team All-Ohio Valley Conference…Also earned numerous Division I-AA All-American honors as a senior…Will likely kick inside to offensive guard at the next level…Played at a small school but is definitely a big-time talent…Top sleeper with intriguing physical tools.
Strengths:
Good size and great bulk…Very athletic…Quick and agile…Has nimble feet…Excellent mobility and range…Strong and powerful…Stout at the point of attack…Gets a good push in the run game…Tough, physical and aggressive…Plays with a nasty demeanor…Offers some versatility.
Weaknesses:
Did not play against elite competition…Inconsistent…Doesn’t always utilize proper leverage…Will struggle to protect the edge…Doesn’t use his hands well…Isn’t a great technician…Has some character concerns.

He is a UDFA
so his character concerns aren’t that big an issue as we can easily cut him without losing any true investment.

I like ‘quick and agile’ ‘excellent mobility’ combined with ‘good size and great bulk’ as far as a Colts G goes.

TACKLE
He is an OT, not a G. This is the kind of player we need to look at to replace Diem so that we can run the stretch play to the right again with effectiveness.

Not at all
how much longer is Vinatieri going to play?? If this guy works out, I want him on my special teams units. Have you seen Vinatieri attempt to make a tackle? It is pathetic. I mean, he’s a kicker so what do you expect, but still pathetic.
Plus I heard that the new kicker is a badass.
I would like to see Chad Ocho Cinco traded to a team that already has a #85 on the roster. Then, I would like to see #85 refuse to give up his jersey number to Chad Ocho Cinco. That would make my day....

Got me.
But I stopped knowing people by the 3rd round.
Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.
Man, I need a life...
Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Every time the Colts have played the KC Chiefs in the playoffs, they have gone on to at least the AFC Championship game.

Touchback Timmy
I’m a Kentucky fan and I love that we grabbed Tim Masthay. He was an absolute monster both on the field and in the class room. Honor roll and academic all american awards for Tim. He was used as a punter and as a kickoff specialist and he was GREAT kicking off. He had 23 touchbacks on a total of 60 kickoffs his senior year.

Get Excited
About Adrian Grady. A big guy with a very high motor, great quickness for a man his size and an excellent bull-rusher. Could be the Polian DT gem of 2009.

I'm excited
after watching the vid by Draft Guys. We are loaded at DT, can’t wait for camp to see how everyone works together as well as who makes the team and who misses out.

Phenomenal bull rush
That’s a phenomenal T2 style bull rush.
Freeney Taylor Moala Brock is a great run package with speed, Freeney Grady Moala Mathis is a phenomenal pass rush.
Wow, I didn’t think it was possible to do this 180 at DT that we just did. I’m stoked.
Jim Sorgi runs a 4.6 40. That's all I've got to say about that.

Haha
I did not feel this way AT ALL after last year’s draft.
Very excited and can’t wait for camp and preseason to see how it starts coming together.
If all stay healthy, this could be a special team.
I would like to see Chad Ocho Cinco traded to a team that already has a #85 on the roster. Then, I would like to see #85 refuse to give up his jersey number to Chad Ocho Cinco. That would make my day....

Cornelius Lewis - OG Tennessee State
http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/og/Cornelius-Lewis.php
I really, really like what Draft Countdown had to say about this guy. A real beast, nasty as all hell. I hope his head is screwed on right and he makes it. He is one baaaaaaaaaaaaad dude. Bad dudes blocking for hard-running fast dudes equals great running game!!
There defintely seems to be a sea change in philosophy regarding running and stopping the run. . . .more size and physicality. I likey!!
The better we can run, and the worse our opponents run, has to mean more possessions for Peyton “the sherrif”. . . .which is a very good thing, me thinks.
by oldecoltsfan on Apr 27, 2009 2:16 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, I really like Cornelius Lewis
CBS prospect ratings did have a profile on him here;
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1248532
He’s 6’4", 332 lbs. and sounds like Duke Robinson only with a nasty demeanor.
He’s described as a “road-grader type” just like Robinson which is the same term applied to our 6’4", 330lb. 7th round pick, Jaimie Thomas.
This may be another “change in philosophy” by Caldwell and I like it. A matching set of massive “road-graders” at guard sounds good to me.

Question regarding numbers of players
How many do we have on the roster now? What are the maximums going into training camp, then on into the pre-season and regular season?
Thanks in advance…
by LovinBlue on Apr 27, 2009 4:44 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Roster Numbers
I think we have 81 or 82 with the UDFAs we’ve accounted for so far. I think they have to enter training camp with 80 then cut it down to 75 after the 2nd or 3rd preseason game and then 53 after the final preseason game.

Colin Cloherty TE, 6'3", 245lbs., Brown University
An article from the Brown University website about his signing with the Colts;
http://www.brownbears.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/042709aaa.html
“Cloherty led all Ivy League tight ends with 40 catches, while compiling 418 receiving yards. He made seven receptions vs. Yale for a team high 72 yards, and made just two catches vs. Penn, but both were big ones. The first was a 29-yard catch across the middle that led to a Brown touchdown, the other a 29-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.”
