Rate Stampede Blue's Draft Coverage: Draft Day Coverage

Now, we're looking for feedback on Draft Day coverage. Specifically, were there enough open threads? Do you like the open thread mechanic that auto-refreshes comments as they roll in? Did the open threads have interesting chatter? When the Colts made their picks, were posts up quickly with photos and interesting information on the picks?

Please vote in the poll and offer comments.

Poll
How was the draft day coverage for the 2009 NFL Draft on Stampede Blue?
Very good; there were several good and timely open threads, and new threads with player information were posted very quickly

Good; the open threads were good and the layer information fine, but things could have been faster

Average' open threads were OK, but I think the site should have done a little more to make it less boring

Not good; open threads weren't interesting, and the player info pages left a lot to be desired

Bad; man, you douches suck! Oh, and Manning is a choker... like your mom!

As I was finally able to post near the end of Day 2

The draft day threads kept me entertained – and sane – during a 5-1/2 hour drive up I-5 (just to be clear, someone else was driving). The only bummer is that I had to follow along on my cell phone, which doesn’t have the auto-update (I realize this is not a Stampede Blue-specific issue). I had one page open to NFL’s draft tracker and the other page on SB.

One question:

Did you have to update your hubby on the Pats’ draft? =-)

His words to me:

“You have a disease.”

I only gave him a couple of updates.

Too funny.

I had pretty much the same reaction from mine while I was watching ESPN (and Mel Kiper – yuck) for 3.5 hours on Saturday…

I’ll tell you what though, I went to bed with a smile on my face and in my heart Sat. night…our picks rocked!

I loved it

But I think we needed to open up new threads quicker. I hate slow computers and it may not have bothered anyone else.

"I saw a commercial on late night TV, it said,'Forget everything you know about slipcovers.' So I did. And it was a load off my mind. Then the commercial tried to sell me slipcovers, and I didn't know what the hell they were."

i thought it was awesome

instead of watching coverage on TV here by myself, i was able to listen to my Sirius NFL radio account on the net and talk to all of you on the threads. Most exciting/informative/fun draft ive ever had.

thanks guys

forgot the actual purpose of the thead.........

as soon as there was a new pick, there was another open thread within a minute. the auto refresh was great, the content of the threads couldnt have been much better. my radio over the net actually had a delay, so i was relying on the threads and NFL.com’s round by round tracker to see who the pick was. i wouldnt be disappointed to find the same draft day coverage next year.

I loved the open thread format.

However, it would be better next year if we could have gotten more people in the open threads. It was like the same 7 people posting 100 comments each (including me).

Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

Man, I need a life...

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Every time the Colts have played the KC Chiefs in the playoffs, they have gone on to at least the AFC Championship game.
