Falcons rookie DT Peria Jerry sparins knee
He sprained the knee he had arthroscopic surgery on during rookie mini-camp. Injury concerns were a big reason several Colts fans did not want Polian to draft Jerry.

Rookie injuries
I do feel bad for anyone who suffers an injury so soon after beginning to live their dream. But a big WHEW! that it hasn’t impacted my favorite team (yet – fingers/toes crossed)… here’s to hoping our players stay healthy and the tough decisions are around who to cut because they’re all ready to play.
How can you not love a team that does this?
it looks like the intial reports of it being minor are right though
on FO they talked about how often a guy leaves with a “knee sprain” and then the next day it’s a torn ACL, but Yahoo says he was walking fine and at the camp.
It may have had nothing to do with his injury history, players get tweaks in practice all the time, but it definitely could have.

People who tear their ACL
Can often walk fine. Not saying that it’s an ACL tear but it is lateral movement that is affected more than “walking.” That is, at least, until they perform surgery.
wouldn't a guy with a torn ACL be getting it fixed rather than standing around watching practice the next day though?

Most likely...
Unless it is some kind of ACL tear but one they believe can “heal” properly in a shorter time than the healing time surgery would require. I am not arguing that I think he tore his ACL. I was just saying that walking isn’t a good indication of the extent of the injury. That’s all :)
If he tore his ACL
they might also want to wait for swelling to subside. But I think you’re right… if it was really torn, the coaches probably wouldn’t want him dilly-dallying around practice and would want him getting that thing fixed asap.

There's a guy
Playing playoff hockey on a shot ACL. It just depends how bad it is and what kind of movements you’re making.
