And for the record
I think CJ is one helluva RB. But I still hope Big T body slams him. :)

The Colts Defense
Is built to “catch him.” We’re not destroyed often by speed runners who run outside the tackles. We’ve been destroyed by speed runners who have burst up the middle, aided by gaping holes allowed when small defensive tackles are man-handled by much larger offensive linemen. If Chris Johnson has to bounce outside, the impact of his speed against the speedy Colts defense will be marginalized.
If/when the Colts interior defensive line is no long man-handled allowing large running lanes down the middle of the field, aiding in a north-south running route for really fast guys, sit back and watch as those “fast” guys are unable to have as much of an impact on this “fast” defense. This is the reason why our defense can’t answer a Sproles or a Turner but can neutralize a Tomlinson. Will that be the case after the improvements up the middle? We shall see. I doubt it will.

True
I wish someone besides the Titans took Johnson. I wish I could like him.

Johnson
He is an exciting running back to watch that’s for sure and he’s only gonna get better. It’s a good thing we’ve bulked up at DT between in our division alone you’ve got Johnson, Slaton and ofcourse MJD. All teams are gonna do is kill us with the run and drain the clock until we prove we can stop it consistently.

???
I’m just not sure what took so long for BP and company to realize what was necessary at the DT position for our defense. Was it mainly Dungy just being stubborn about it?

Well, let's be clear
For the last four years, Bill Polian has brought in players like Corey Simon, Booger McFarland, Ed Johnson, Quinn Pitcock, and almost brought in John McCargo. That’s three first round picks, an undrafted guy, and a third rounder. So, it’s not like Polian just left the area un-attended. Bad luck, injuries, and weed have made this area a problem. Polian has made great efforts to improve the DT area. Some have turned out. Others didn’t.

True
But the Simon signing was very much not our MO for the DT position up until then either. My point is it seems that with this 09 draft vs the rest of the Polian drafts the FO has made it a point to really shore this spot up.

Well
I think he had to shore it up because (at the time) all the guys I mentioned to you previous are no longer on the team.

OK
Yes obviously, but prior to this domino effect that started with Simon. The emphasis has always been about speed not size, why all of a sudden is size such a factor when most of the prior drafts reflected that mantra. Not too mention that Johson, Pitcock and the trade attempt for McCargo were all in a short period of time in this four year window.

That was one sweet suplay
I am guessing Big T has a wrestling background, mainly because of his hip turn at the apex of the throw so the RB comes down on his belly and can “defend himself” from the ground. (That makes it legal in scholastic wrestling).
Damn, I never managed that move even without pads. (of course willing victims, when they know what they are doing and sense what is happening, tend to curl up into fetal balls to avoid the off-chance of a broken neck) Sure is nice what a low CG does for a DT.
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

Sweet picture
Is that HD?
TT is going to be a great addition to the team. He’s really what we needed after Quinn Pitcock retired.
