Ok, first football related question

Does Painter beat out the “Slim” Jim Sorgi

OH NO WE SUCK AGAIN!

by colts9318rock on May 23, 2009 10:50 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

lol

Why, because Jim Sorgi is the God of all back up QBs?

OH NO WE SUCK AGAIN!

by colts9318rock on May 23, 2009 10:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Two things:
1) Sorgi has the exprience.
2) Sorgi is close with the entire organization.
3) Painter is overrated.

by KingRichard on May 23, 2009 10:53 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

random,

but my cousin went to college with Sorgi. I’ve met him, he’s a pretty cool guy.

by LovinBlue on May 23, 2009 10:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lol

Painter is way underrated in my mind. Anyone who had the kind of year he did last year does not deserve to be drafted. Plus I believe this guy will be a back up QB next year.

OH NO WE SUCK AGAIN!

not at all likely

I though Quinn Gray had a chance last year, but then he self destructed while Sorgi sat out with a knee tweak.

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: I graduate from high school Saturday at 3:00 (at the Pepsi Coliseum no less). I accept all gifts :-)

I know... it's weird

And I grew up a Dodgers fan, but then I didn’t care about baseball for years and years until I married my husband, who as you all know is from New England. At least he didn’t swing me to the dark side in football.

How can you not love a team that does this?

by LovinBlue on May 23, 2009 11:24 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I hate the Yankees so rooting for the Red Sox was the best way to express that

but Simmons (and the Red Sox spending like the Yankee’s Jr.) is pushing me toward hating both

by shake n bake on May 23, 2009 11:25 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I live 5 mile from the Trop

all a bunch of Ban Wagon fans who decided to throw their Reds and Cubs hats away to root for a team in the World Series. Got to love them.

Well, I’m a Floridian and since I hate the Skankees and the Red Sox it was natural for me to root for the Rays.

by LovinBlue on May 23, 2009 11:42 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I don't even care enough about baseball

to hate the Yankees. I just follow the Sox and root for them. I also really like Jerry Remy… his broadcast is relatively unbiased (doesn’t say thing like “our guys” or “the good team”). And oh wait there is one thing about the Yankees that I hate… that guy whose voice warbles, “And the Yankees win! The Yananananakkekekkesssss wiwiwiwiwnwnwnwniininin!!” Ugh.

How can you not love a team that does this?

by LovinBlue on May 23, 2009 11:42 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'll commit Cubs fan blasphemy

and admit I like the White Sox announcers calls.

I’m pretty sure I’m suppose to hate them, a lot.

by shake n bake on May 23, 2009 11:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I will always pull for the Cubs

If they play the Yanks in the WS, I’ll pull for the Cubs. Its the closest team to Indiana besides the Reds

Alright lets talk some football

I was reading some of the comments on shakes article and there is a lot of chatter about the D-Line rotation. Do you guys think that their is enough depth to have a D-line formation where their are essentially 4 DE’s like the Giants had in strahans last year? Im thinking something like Freeney, Foster, Brock, and Mathis with Brock and Foster inside

by metal_militia on May 23, 2009 11:18 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

What?

why would the Colts do that. I can only see that happening on a passing situation. Otherwise they will run all over the Colts.

OH NO WE SUCK AGAIN!

by colts9318rock on May 23, 2009 11:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

but thats what I was implying

a 4 man, all pass rush, D-line on pass downs or against an ultra heavy pass offense (ala the patriots)

by metal_militia on May 23, 2009 11:24 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

my cool imagined alignment

is a 5-2 to play against heavy sets

1 of Mookie/Taylor/Ed playing a 1 or 0 tech

2 of Moala/Brock/Foster/Dawson playing 3 techs on either side

With Freeney and Mathis or Wheeler (Wheeler so that they can just shift into it from a base set) at DE

by shake n bake on May 23, 2009 11:24 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

didn't they do that last year

on a lot of 3rd downs?

Brock was sliding inside on a good number of 3rd downs and Foster was the #1 DT on the roster after Ed toked his way off it.

by shake n bake on May 23, 2009 11:26 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

You could be right

But I think it was highly ineffective due to the Lack of depth at DT.

by metal_militia on May 23, 2009 11:28 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

For those of you watching the race tomorrow

I think I’m going to be up about 25 rows from A.J. Foyt IV’s pit. And he’s marrying into the Irsay family, so I’ll be rooting for him.

thats a good one actually

Maybe their is more to his injury than the Colts are letting on. I know we are assuming he fell out of favor with the Colts, but maybe Dr. Blue can dig up something that the Colts werent telling us

So who do you people think will be the rookie of the year this season?

by KingRichard on May 23, 2009 11:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Offensive...

Defensive ROY…it’s a cop out, but Curry will take that. He’s set up to succeed in Seattle.

by indy15 on May 23, 2009 11:34 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I would say

Maclin as well. However, I do expect to see Donald Brown as a rookie of the week or month candidate numerous times.

DHB

KIDDING!

I agree with indy15… Maclin

I think Wells has a good shot

The Zona passing game will take a lot of pressure off him and Hightower kinda sucks so shouldn’t eat into his carries too bad.

Speaking of contracts Colts9318rock

When do you guys feel that the rookei contracts get done? Hopefully it doesn;t take forever like it did last year.

by metal_militia on May 23, 2009 11:38 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

first signings of any picks was the Niners 9 days ago

I think once the Moore-Mudd stuff gets settled they’ll get down to business with the rookies.

by shake n bake on May 23, 2009 11:39 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

your probably right

I suspect that the contracts will get done earlier this time though since. I beleive, we have more cap space this year.
