Marvin Harrison NOT retiring, Peter King's "Twitter" sources full of it
Once again, Peter King is made to look like a fool. Maybe he should "tweet" less and do some more, you know, real reporting. From NFL.com's Steve Wyche:
Former Colts WR Marvin Harrison, now a free agent, said he has no plans to retire and that he wants to play in 2009, according to his agent, Tom Condon. The problematic knee that has limited some of Harrison’s speed and overall effectiveness the past two seasons hasn’t been an issue either, Condon said.
"I played in 15 games last year and a playoff game, and I intend to play again this season," Condon said Harrison told him in a conversation Thursday afternoon.
Well gee. I wonder who Peter King's "reliable source" was when he tweeted this the other night:
"I've been told reliably that Marvin Harrison's not playing any more. Knee hurts. Can't get healthy like the old Marvin."
It will be interesting to see where Marvin plays in 2009, but one thing is clear. He is indeed bound and determined to play in 2009.

This one gets extra credit for outrageous grammar

18to88 brings up a good point
Here:
This doesn’t actually contradict what King posted about Marvin’s status. He has said from the beginning that he thinks Marvin is finished. He may “think he thinks” he knows something about the condition of Marvin’s knee that makes him feel confident that Harrison won’t pass a physical or won’t get signed by anyone. It does question his statement about Marvin’s knee.
Marvin might think he’s healthy enough to play and his agent might think he’s healthy enough to play, but if there isn’t a general manager out there that thinks he can still play, it’s a moot point.

Marvin may be determined to play
But unless he can convince a team to take him AND he is willing to accept what is likely to be vet minimum there isn’t a darn thing he can do about it.

Truly a sad sad display
I understand it is business but Marvin Harrison is a Colt. It will practically imposible to see him in another uniform next year if indeed he gets picked up by another team. I think hawkeye makes a very valid point in that even if he feels like there is still some gas in the tank, if he cannot get big dollars I think he retires.
