Our base is four-three with a Tampa 2 in terms of our coverage. We still are the same team in that sense. Don’t expect to come out and see some brand-new scheme that’s totally different than what we’ve done before."

Jim Caldwell makes it clear, for the billionth time, that the Colts defense is still a Tampa 2 defense.

Colts Pass Coverage

What I would like to see more of this year is Colts DBs and LBs in coverage that actually have their eyes toward the QB or the ball if possible. It seems like much too often that the CBs, Safeties and LBs are running behind the other team’s receiver, trying to play catch up, and have no idea where the ball is….much easier to tip or intercept if you are in the right position to make a play and not just chasing someone.
