Luke Links: Your late-afternoon no-huddle edition

Lukelinkslogo_medium

We thought a little late-afternoon linkage was in order. The new Transformers movie is getting destroyed by critics, and it seems for good reason. Apparently, some of the robots in the film are presented as racial stereotypes. That's unfortunate. I guess if you have kids, ignore this thing. Take them to "Up!"

maybe

Pollak’s not as much of a bust as Richard is a complete steal.

touche.

Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

Man, I need a life...

Random facts of the week from the empty void that is my mind: I'm going to be going to Missouri (where there is no Internet or computers) for 2 weeks starting Monday, so I've got 3 of these for you.

1. You may have noticed before, but I love Scrubs. A lot. No seriously, I'm addicted to it, and here's why with this thrown in.

2. When you put thermite and blocks of ice together, you get a big boom. Nobody really knows why.

3. The Colts' (Indy and Baltimore's) all-time franchise record is 438-428-8. So, the Colts' just recently (2007 season) broke .500. That really tells you how bad the Colts were before Peyton.

no way we can call a second round pick a bust until he’s finished his third season…

I have never

Been a big fan of the Pollak pick. I’m partial to give him the benefit of the doubt since he was thrust into the starting lineup last year at an unfamiliar position, but I still scratch my head when thinking of why we took him. But like said above, Richard was an absolute steal, so it may balance out if Pollak doesn’t improve, but he’s still young.

As for transformers, I imagine if you REALLY liked the first one, you’ll for sure like this one. I thought the first one had awesome effects and it was cool seeing the toys I played with as a kid on the big screen, but the terrible acting, horrible out of nowhere one liners, and bad humor from the first one will keep me very far away from the sequel. All depends on what you like, I guess.
