Multiple Sources: Favre is Already Inked
I know, I know...about 3/4 of you are groaning right now, but bear with me.
According to this source, Brett Favre has already agreed to a contract with the Minnesota Vikings despite no official announcement. Maybe the no announcement has something to do with Brad Childress being off fishing in Alaska. Anyway, I came across this link via Pro Football Report which came to me via CHFF. What do you know, two sites I hate coming together to actually bring worthwhile news. Who woulda thunk it? Anyway, why, you ask, am I making a FanPost about this and wasting your valuable time? Well, 3 reasons come to mind:
1. I have a giant ego and love to be the first one to post news.
2. Since Favre is coming back, he is going to increase his consecutive games started streak even more, and we all know that that is one of the records that Peyton really wants to break (See, I linked it to the Colts.). Obviously, it's kinda hard to break Favre's streak if he won't ever GO AWAY. I was really hoping Peyton would be able to gain on him this year. (sigh)
3. The fact that this news is coming out means that we are very close to the end of this offseason's version of Favreapalooza. That is good news for everybody. The only event left to suffer through is the official announcent of Favre's signing, and that's going to happen very soon, especially since the information was leaked.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

I am glad...
I am glad that Favre’s shoulder is better. If he can play then he should play. I don’t fault Green Bay for wanting to try Aaron Rodgers out. He was in the last year of his contract and they needed to think more long term. What pisses me off is that the Packers poison pilled Favre last year. They did NOT want him to play for the Vikings.
Bottom line, they were correct to go with Aaron Rodgers, but they were total chumps to poison pill Favre. As for the media storm that is brewing yeah its annoying, but I will take Favre stories over TO stories any day of the week.

Agree with you 100%
Of course I’m partial to Aaron Rodgers…
How can you not love a team that does this?

I agree
Favre will definitely have a chip on his shoulder when he plays Green Bay. Those will be games to watch. As for the Vikes, they are probably the team to beat in what was, in my opinion, a toss-up conference. I can’t wait for their visit to Pittsburgh on October 25th. I could easily see, however, a scenario in which Favre leads a Titans-style collapse in the playoffs, complete with fumbles, picks, and spasms of ill- directed rage!!!
Glory is fleeting, but obscurity is forever.

I don't think they owed the Vikings any favours
If Bob Sanders develops a sudden hankering to play for the Titans, I’m very cool with trading him to Buffalo.

I feel sorry for Favre Fans
If he ends up playing again for ANOTHER team, his fans will have to spring for yet a another jersey. Very expensive for them. His fans need a jersey with interchangable team logos!

a favre fan
I haven’t sprung for a Favre jersey yet, because they are too expensive for a blue collar income.
I wish the media would quell the hype.

Just curious from your sports loyalties.
Are you a fellow Northwest Indiana resident?

You know...
The only reason Madden retired is because he couldn’t bear the thought of calling another season’s worth of games without his golden boy Brett Favre around to fill his Sunday nights with joy. Some even say that Brett’s retiring then un-retiring, switching teams, week-long tractor rides and general evasiveness in interviews can be attributed to a really ugly break-up between himself and Madden after which Madden would incessantly stalk Favre to the point where Brett actually started hiding his jock strap in another teammates locker after several mysterious disappearances ensued.
You watch. If Favre comes back Madden won’t be far behind him.
Actually, he’ll have to be at least 500 feet behind him as per the restraining order.
