Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Tom Moore and Howard Mudd will return to the Indianapolis Colts as consultants in time for training camp in August and handle "very significant roles,'' according to the team's owner.
....
They won't have the same titles, but will perform similar duties to what they've done in the past.

I'm good come.

I’m already catching up on IFR and Paul K’s blog, so I’m be around here anyway.

Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

Man, I need a life...

Random facts of the week from the empty void that is my mind: I'm going to be going to Missouri (where there is no Internet or computers) for 2 weeks starting Monday, so I've got 3 of these for you.

1. You may have noticed before, but I love Scrubs. A lot. No seriously, I'm addicted to it, and here's why with this thrown in.

2. When you put thermite and blocks of ice together, you get a big boom. Nobody really knows why.

3. The Colts' (Indy and Baltimore's) all-time franchise record is 438-428-8. So, the Colts' just recently (2007 season) broke .500. That really tells you how bad the Colts were before Peyton.

Awesome.

Sounds like they will just be the OC and Line Coach without the titles. This is really the best-case scenario with what has happened so far, and it worked out that way.

Oh, and did I mention, Awesome!

oughta calm down the entire media who have declared us dead and done for even though we have superstars that roam our team

if the season ends and we collapse I will be the first to say…atta boy media. you were right

but if the season ends with us being super (not necessarily winning the lombardi but having a great season) I want the entire media who graveled in despair the day after the superbowl to what will be to the beginning of the new season to collectively STFU next offseason as reward for the fans of indy having to hear and read obout the constant crap they have no clue about and putting us down for the sake of them WANTING us to fail instead of it actually happening.

you dont know how overjoyed I am for this happening and the other teams can also say…dammmn maybe the big collapse just might NOT happen this year

hey I know what…how about the media going back to reporting on TO, chad I still stinko, and the other goons who consume the spotlight

ps…I love how tom brady gets a free pass on all of this. we all know how we read daily that peyton was doing whether it was true or not and deservedly so since he is the best qb in the league but there is very little written about the SECOND best franchise qb who had major surgery and out for a year.

It wouldn't have happened anyway.

The “expert analysts” who are primarily former players like Cris Carter have no authority on these subjects anymore than you or I do. They watch the Colts play, form an opinion, and spew it like they just got back from an all-night frat party and are kneeling to the porcelain gods. Seriously.

The fact is, this team has had a plan in place for the departure of Moore and Mudd for some time and if we had to move forward with that plan this year, we would have been fine. What’s more important is that this team is freaking stacked with talent this year. Think about it.

When have you seen a deeper or more talented linebacker rotation? (other than the Thornton/Washington pairing – more talented but not as deep) When have you seen a deeper or more talented group defensive tackle? What have you seen our pass rushing threat at defensive end go five deep on the roster? When have you seen four Pro Bowlers on the field at the same time for the Colts defense? When has this team had a better corner back tandem in your memory or a more intense competition for the nickel position?

When is the last time you’ve seen three players competing for one spot on the roster at receiver and thought that not only do all three have a legitimate shot but they could all make an impact and give Manning a new weapon? When is the last time you can remember having two first round draft picks at running back?

I could reach and talk about my “confidence” in other positions as well but I’d be labeled a pure homer at that point, and I really am not… I wouldn’t want to get my hopes up only to have them shot down, I’m way to used to that as a Colts fan. This team is friggin’ stacked, Manning IS IN HIS PRIME (I don’t care what the tools at ESPN think about it, I know better), he just won the NFL MVP AWARD SPENDING A THIRD OF THE SEASON WITH A HOBBLED LEG!!! He’s completely healthy, back in his familiar routine, has had a chance to gain his weight and strength back, and is having his FIRST OPPORTUNITY to work with many of his young receiving threats.

YO NFL, BRING IT!
