So I'm reading IGN, and they're doing a series on predictions for the upcoming NFL season using Madden 10. Well, the Colts win the AFC South with an 11-5 record, and win a divisional game 23-20 over the Titans. The Colts go to the #1 overall Steelers (15-1) and play a tough game in the snow.

Tie game, 21-21, late in the 4th. Addai gets stopped at the 20. Vinatieri comes in... AND IT'S GOOD!

Steelers take over and get to the 28 on the ensuing kickoff. They get to their own 28... AND THEY RUN OUT OF TIME! COLTS WIN! COLTS WIN! COLTS WIN!

My hands are shaking, I have a huge smile, and my heart is just pounding. Also, I can't stop laughing at myself.

What I didn't like about "those colts".

No Pierre Garcon, they are clearly wrong about this guy (he’s about 55 overall, Collie is 68), even though remember the ratings have been extended.
Reggie on the right side…when will they notice he almost ALWAYS plays X! Even when Marv was injured!
No Dallas Clark, but he was probably injured…
No Ryan Lilja, but I guess it’ll be that way until he proves he’s healthy…
In general, I hate the ratings…How come Gary Brackett is an 82 (our best LB by about 20 points) and his speed is 73! And Gonzo is a 75!

Yeah, I conveniently ignore the AFC Championship game, because A) there’s no way the Pats have a better record than the Colts this season, B) It doesn’t rain in Foxboro in January; it snows, and C) No way the Colts get shut out.

Still though, it’s ridiculous to get stoked over video game football.

Madden rankings are way too based on last years performance, which is why Gonzalez, Brackett etc are too low…

Don't diss the Madden ratings

Fine, they base the ratings on last year, but what the hell do they rate them on? Do they ask every team’s fanbase “what do you want your third string receiver’s rating to be?”. Or maybe they should rate them on the rumors and snippets of info from training camp? If Caldwell says “Garcon caught some fantastic passes today from Manning”, should EA immediately give Garcon a 73? And Collie had more yards than any wide receiver in the nation last year! How does he not deserve a 68? And Madden isn’t based on individual coaches styles of playing. So what if Reggie always plays left? The Madden system is made to put the best receiver on the team wide right. Not to mention Brackett isn’t exactly the fastest guy out there. Gonzo did have a low speed rating, i’ll admit. I guarantee you, if you ask EVERY football fan out there, they will give you different ratings, NO ONE will give you the same ratings as an other guy. Stop complaining and edit the players stats once you get the game, like a cheater.
