NFL Network Interviews Polian
I already posted this in the Painter/Thomas thread, but am going to repost it here to make it more accessible. Not that interesting since all they do is talk about Vick, but its always nice to hear from Polian

But I’m guessing it is safe to say the Colts have no interest in Vick. Isn’t there some way we can take him so he doesn’t end up a Patriot?
Ill give you a quick recap since you cant hear what he is saying
Basically, Polian explains what he thinks of vick, why teams arent willing to sign him, and why the Colts cant take him. He believes Vick is an incredible athlete and Dungy will help turn his life around. Teams dont want to sign him, not because of the baggage he carries with him, but because of the time away from football and his overall physical shape. The Colts cant sign him because of the 80 man roster (since they will need every roster spot available for rookies and camp fauder) and Vick does not have the skill set to adapt to the Colts no huddle scheme.

He was very polite about it all, but the implication was that he doesn’t think he’s an NFL quarterback.
Which is true. I can’t see him helping anyone. Then again, I didn’t think much of him before this all went down either.
I love how he harps on the 80 man limit every chance he gets. That rule really sucks. And he’s right, it puts the team in a huge hole, having so many guys on PUP, and the increased reps for everyone in practice just increases the injury risk early on, which can cause year-long problems. This was true a few years back when there was no DB depth whatsoever (when they took Sapp from the Ravens practice squad as noted in Feinstein’s book, I believe).
