Cheating for a starting job, is it ok?

Brady Quinn is in a huge qb competition.

In this link, I break down his "cheating"

I was curious to what you guys thought about it.  Do you guys see it as cheating?  I know Peyton is not in any type of QB competition, this is his team, but what if this was going on at other positions?

Do you think it is a big deal?  Does it take away from the team?  I am def curious to hear what you guys have to say!

I don't understand..

“Derek Anderson’s helmet radio went out and he had to use hand signals to the rest of his squad. Not only did Brady help out his squad on the offensive side, he also to the guys what the hand signals meant.”

That is terrible writing and I don’t even understand what he did that was cheating. Anderson used hand signals and Brady "help out his squad and “he also to the guys what the hand signals meant.”

What the hell?

telling his defensive squad

hand signals is not the most honorable way to win a starting job….kinda lousy if you ask me. Once the play starts it is still up to Derek Anderson and his offensive squad to execute. it really only hurts Brady Quinn, if thats what it takes to look better than Derek Anderson he is in trouble, he wont be able to do those type of things in a game. it does not take away from the team just brady and i dont think its that big of deal. im rooting for derek anderson anyways.

I like Brady Quinn.

But it sounds like he’s be more comfortable playing for the patriots.

Media Overreaction 101

Anderson was laughing when he accused Quinn of stealing signs

Reporters at the scrimmage saw Anderson laughing while making the comment, but that didn’t head off several online reports suggesting Quinn was using underhanded tactics to win the starting job.

"I think everyone blew that out of proportion a little bit," Quinn said Wednesday. "No one was stealing hand signals. Our defense knows most of our hand signals at this point, anyways."

I agree with you.

This really isn’t football “news”. But I do like stories like this. They give us an insight into players personalities. The games are more fun to watch when you know a little bit about the players.

But why would you be watching the Browns?

Do you like torturing yourself?

Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

Any football is better than no football!

Plus, and I can say this because I’m a woman, Brady Quinn looks great in a football uniform.

Yawn...

Derek Anderson has had 3 years basically to cement himself as the starter, and he’s failed to do that in 2 of those years. The fact that there is an even a QB battle should tell you everything. Derek Anderson is a decent QB and could be a starter for many teams, however I’d take Quinn over DA all day every day….
