Roy Hall Experiment Over?
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/08/13/colts-waive-roy-hall-sign-walter-mendenhall/
Courtesy of D-Bag Mike Florio:
The Indianapolis Colts have announced a series of roster moves.
They've waived/injured receiver Roy Hall, a fifth-round pick in 2007. If unclaimed by any other team, he'll land in injured reserve.
Also, the Colts inked running back Walter Mendenhall, the brother of Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall, who was a first-round pick in the 2008 draft.
The Colts also waived guard Tom Pestock, signed defensive end Rudolph Hardie, and activated receiver Sam Giguere from the physically unable to perform list.
I wonder if this is just for this pre-season game or if he's gone for good.

RUDOLPH HARDIE!!!!!
I LOVED THAT GUY
It's shocking what you can miss sometimes. The amazing color changing card trick.
Wanna fill us in, Shake?
And Hall is toast, he’s injured too much and we’ve got great receiver depth. Can’t say I’m sad to see him go, I’ve had quite enough of injuries.
I loved him as a late rounder in 2008
6’1" 270 DT-DE
Thought he’d be a good Raheem Brock type or a more athletic Josh Thomas

Really?
I’ve never heard of him.
By the way, I guess it’s safe to assume that Roy Hall is now out of the 3rd wide receiver competition. He was the underdog anyway. It’s now between Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon, and it looks like it’s clos. My money is on Austin Collie.

What a waste...
I am also wondering what’s up with this Mendenhall guy. Are we worried about our RB depth now, or is someone soon to be waived from those ranks as well?

Yeah...
I caught that. But that still leaves Ball and Simpson to finish off most of the 3rd stringers, and I assume Addai will take a few carries, and hopefully Brown will get even more than that so we can check out his skills. So, that being said, do you think we still need another pre-season "filler’ type guy or do you think it’s something else? Who knows maybe the guy turns out to be our 3rd string RB, but I kind of doubt it.

Who gets 5th Receiver spot now?
Giguere or Taj?
Read on Bleacher Report that Giguere would go to the CFL if he doesn’t make the active roster but from what we’ve heard about Taj from TC he could be a great 5th receiver to keep around on the roster.
I was always pulling for Roy Hall – he really does seem like a great guy. Was really active in the community. Who knows, for as injured as he’s been maybe we’ll retain him on IR. But it’s probably safe to say they’re not counting on him anymore at all.
Sigh
There goes my “Roy Hall is the Next Marques Colston” wet dream. Anyway, on to Giguere and Taj Smith. Speaking of Smith, in the Star’s “Getting to know Taj Smith” section today, when asked the most important things people needed to know about him, he proceeded to list his hobbies. It sounded like a Playboy “turn-ons” list. What the hell? For a guy who only has a remote shot at making the roster, shouldn’t his response have been something like “I’m the hardest worker ever” or “I’m willing to put my body on the line to make a difficult catch”? Oh well. Whatever works for him.
"You're hitting the wrong person. Don't you know you're hitting Ron Artest?"
If words were deeds
Roy Hall wouldn’t be cut right now.
As long as Smith gets it done, he can play all the chess he wants.
hey times are tough
if he doesn’t make the roster he might be looking to pick up some cash on the side whoring himself out.
