Around SBN: What If This Is It For The Celtics? End Of An Era Looming

The transition from nearly pure zone to heavy man coverage didn't go well for David (to put it very kindly). A certain zone team may be in the market for a veteran nickelback though to push or replace a young, inconsistent, free agent to be, 3rd corner.

Not exactly a surprise

David was an average CB when he was here for the Colts, and the only reason he got paid like he did was because of us being champs. Otherwise, he’s a average player who can’t cover a parked car.

It was guys like Freeney and Mathis and Booger McFarland who allowed this guy to be great….

Lastly, it’s ironic how the Colts Defense got better without him than with him.

Agree 100%

If the Colts signed David, I would take back all of my previous comments about being excited about the defense.

I will always remember ol' Manning tearing him up in the first game

David was in a Saints jersey. I think theColts went at him for 3 TDs if I remember right. I think I want Nick Harper back more than JD though……….

I don't think we could get Harper back anytime soon

he’s actually starting caliber and plays for a team with a scheme he fits.

It's shocking what you can miss sometimes. The amazing color changing card trick.

Here we go

“Manning led countless owners to a win this week with his 288-yard, three-touchdown performance against New Orleans. The Colts picked on Saints CB Jason David all night — all three of Manning’s touchdown passes went to wideouts who had beaten David. His scores came on a 28-yard pass to Marvin Harrison and strikes of 28 and 45 yards to Reggie Wayne”-fantasy football.com

Putting myself in their shoes I imagine it's like intead of releasing Gilbert Gardner after 2006

the Colts demoted him, but everyone ahead of him got hurt so he started a bunch again, but with the added pain of having given up a 4th round pick and a decent sized contract to sign him.

It's shocking what you can miss sometimes. The amazing color changing card trick.

Jason david...

I think he would be an upgrade at the nickelback spot. I’d love to see him come back with all the injuries that we always have in the secondary. Having him and Jennings as back ups would greatly improve our depth.

I remember that Colts-Saints game where JD got beat as

the last day Marvin Harrison shined with us…I remember saying: “There goes No. 88 again, he’s still the game’s best WR” and my dad said: “I think he’ll soon start to slip…”. That thought was quickly rejected out of my mind, I didn’t even think about it anymore. Like 3 weeks later, he got hurt… :(

GO COLTS! =D
