Roster Moves 8.19.09 - OT Corey Hilliard waived, OG Tom Pestock signed

Corey Hilliard is not a Colt today. Per Mike Chappell reports (here).

Star-divide

The team waived offensive tackle Corey Hilliard and re-signed offensive lineman Tom Pestock. You gotta feel a little bad for the guy - he just had a kid last week and now he's not earning a paycheck. Honestly wish him the best of luck, but he was responsible for Peyton getting sacked twice on Friday. Maybe not entirely his fault, but still... Pestock is supposed to be good in the run game - maybe he's someone that sticks on the P.S.

Good riddance to the Peyton Manning killer

oh didnt see the kid part

well I hope he gets another chance to support his kid, but i dont feel too sorry for him. You just cant give up two sacks and be responsible for almost all the pressure Manning had in the first game and not expect to be cut.

Hopefully he earned his degree while in college.

I must be mean, but I’m glad he’s gone. #1 Rule for a Colts’ O lineman: PROTECT PEYTON AT ALL COSTS.

I wish him well. Perhaps he’ll get signed by the Titans or Jags. =-)

But then again...

it was probably not the smartest move to put him at LT, anyway. Caldwell, Mudd – you guys gonna put Tony back there or what?

LOL

I guess I’m going to have to break down and start drinking energy drinks. Coffee just doesn’t seem to do it anymore.

This has to mean CJ and/or Diem are ready to go tomorrow

or I guess that they are comfortable giving Toudoze a shot at protecting Peyton * shivers *

It's shocking what you can miss sometimes. The amazing color changing card trick.

toudoze

he did a pretty good job when he was asked to play, the chargers game in ‘07 comes to mind. still I wouldn’t want him to be the permanent solution.

O-LINE

Too many questions . I hope they get it settled before game one. Why does it always seem we are one injury away from disaster!!!!!!!!!

It was just a matter of time IMO

Looks like Caldwell & Co. must’ve reviewed the game tape last night and said “Hey wait, we waived the wrong guy earlier this week— put Hilliard on Waivers NOW!”

Hey, at least the Colts didn’t sign another DT in place of Hilliard.

Thank GOODNESS!!!

How can you not love a team that does this?

by LovinBlue on Aug 19, 2009 1:24 PM EDT reply actions

I feel sorry for Hilliard.

But this is Peyton we’re talking about protecting. So there’s just no choice.
