Well, as has been said a million times, the Colts just dont care about the preseason. Even when this is supposed to be a tune up game for the Starters, they decide to rest more than half of the defensive starters and run plays they wouldn't run on certain situations (like blitz on third and long). Anywho, here is my five
1.) I think Curtis Painter will make the roster. If he is on PS, I have no doubt someone will pick him up. Compared to Sorgi, Painter seems to have more command of the offense and a stronger arm. The only way to keep him is to keep him oin the 53 man roster.
2.) I Think the last two preseason games have shown that Moala is starting to come along. He hasn't registered a sack yet, but he has shown a quick burst off the line and penetration. I think that once he gets his technique refined and settles down (he jumped offsides a few times) he should perform the way we expected him too.
3.) I think the offensive line did ok. Not back to the old reliable one we had in 2007 or the years prior to it, but I didn't have many complaints. Not sure why some people thought Pollak did bad. When I watched the game, It looked more like diem was struggling. Pollak was just fine to me.
4.) I think the Colts will only carry 4 receivers if Garcon performs the same or even better next week. If Garcon can duplicate or better his performance, I dont see the need to carry one mroe receiver. Since Tamme and Clark have the flexibility to split out wide, the Colts can save a roster spot for an extra defensive player.
5.) I think Dante Hughes will get cut in favor of Lacey. He didn't look horrible yesterday, but asside from one pass breakup, he didn't show much to warrent his third round value the last two years. Lacey has shown good tackling and coverage skills ideal for this defense.
Time for your take.
