I have to assume that only giving him a 1 year deal means he's a temp-to-hire type guy. If he works really hard to perfect his craft both on special teams and his receiving skills the sky's the limit with someone like Peyton throwing to him. Let's hope he realizes this is and busts his butt to impress us.

I like it!

After reading a lot of differen’t opinion’s about this guy
he seems like a good dude, and a vast majority speek
highly on his work ethic, I have also heard a lot of people
say he was underutilized in Philly.

Welcome Hank Baskett and family.

I hope the best of Hank will be seen in a Colts uniform!

I'm happy

Get him a little playing time on Monday and get him on the field more and more gradually.

Fade route.

I hear he is not to good on the fade route, but at (6’4 220) you gotta think P will be
throwing some jump balls his way.
Can you say RED ZONE?

by payne on Sep 17, 2009 4:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

You may see him as a decoy. He really has never been good on those fades.

He would jump up with them, and never bring them down.

Granted, sometimes those where some very, very hard grabs. But an elite WR makes at least some of those catches.

Bleed green, or don't bleed at all!

Bill knows best

At best he’ll be the 5th or 6th option on offense but I hear he’s a solid special teams player and that’s definitely an area where improvement is needed. If he shows he can play on offense I’m sure Peyt will find him out there. Maybe a good endzone target considering his size?
We’ll see.

shake, can payne be put in time out?

How can you not love a team that does this?

Speaking of pain in the asses

shake, whatever happened to that colts_and_cavs_fan_09 kid? Did you ban him?

Do I believe in aliens?" Stephon Marbury asked. "I don't know, because I've never seen one. But I believe in Jesus because I saw him in the shower the other day."

by KMR24 on Sep 17, 2009 6:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

nope

he was a bit annoying, but not near ban-able.

Guess he left or went to lurking.

I think I’ve only banned 3 people PatsR18*andDONEwithoutCHEATING, Jay16 (and a second account he made) and The Babe (Parilili). BBS has banned an obvious troll or two as well in the last few months

It's not just your perceptions that can be wrong. Even your memory is often incomplete or possibly flat out wrong.

What did PatsR do

to get him banned?

Man, I need a life...

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: My chemistry class decided to have their first test on Monday, September 21, from 8:00-9:00 PM. The Colts play the Dolphins at 8:30 that same night. I don't think I can be any more ticked off right now. I think I'm going to kill someone. No, really. I just haven't decided who yet.

Posting made up facts, repeating them after being corrected, asking questions that had been asked and answered word for word earlier in the thread

Just generally being a pain in the ass that didn’t add anything.

I asked him to do 30 seconds of research to answer a question he had asked (that was answered days before in the thread he commented in) and gave him 3 days. He ignored me and kept posing the same type of stuff despite reminders to do the seconds of research or he’d be banned.

the specific example I remember is saying that losing Pitcock was no big deal because he had only played a couple snaps as a rookie

I posted info showing he had 18 tackles and 1.5 sacks and he kept saying he only played a couple snaps in other threads even though he had posted again (so should have seen) in the same thread I had corrected him.

hopefully you know I was kidding

you’re nowhere NEAR as bad as Pars, jay16 and Babe!!!

ooh

I remember someone specific BBS banned. They deserved it, but they did make me laugh.

Some Broncos fan (I think this was around the time BBS got into some Elway vs someone else arguments over at MHR) registered a second around named “Big BS Microphone” and started replying to every comment BBS made repeating whatever BBS had posted in ALL CAPS.

I'm laughing pretty hard right now.

That is both creative and hilarious. I’m now going to have to search for him in the search box.

Hmmmmm..........

I can’t find him anywhere. Did BBS delete all of his comments or something? That was something I’d like to see.

on the topic of funny football related stuff

Colbert just had a really nice line about the NFL. Paraphrasing,

“The NFL season kicked off last weekend and the big story was the return of two quarterbacks. (image of Favre and Vick comes up) One who’s cruel and unforgivable actions have permanently tarnished his reputation….. and Micheal Vick.”

LOL.

I love Colbert and John Stewart. I had gotten out of the habit of tuning in at 11:00 since they went on vacation for 3 weeks and had completely missed this show.

I need to start tuning in again (I personally like Stewart more than Colbert, but mostly because I love Stewart’s brand of political humor.).

What show is that?

Also, I remember the all caps repeater. It made me laugh at the time.

Stephen Colbert on his show the Colbert Report

there’ll probably be a clip on their website tomorrow.

Colbert Report.

It’s a parody news show with a professional comedian as the sole anchor. It pretty much makes fun of anything in a bumbling, hilarious way.

New shows come on Comedy Central on weekdays at 11:30 PM and are repeated at various points the next day.

Just saw on ESPN

Caldwell told them Gonzo would be out 2 weeks to between 6 and 8 weeks.

by Addai Another Aday on Sep 17, 2009 4:20 PM EDT via mobile reply actions   0 recs

so

so basically 2-8 weeks?

by atg1 on Sep 17, 2009 4:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

2-8 weeks?

That’s a big freaking range.

Do you guys think Baskett has any fantasy value?

I had gonzo in my main league and have very little WR depth now. (we’re taking burleson, avery depth)

Get Louis Murphy if he is still available

Number one target for the Raiders. He’s pretty good.

Baskett

I think coach will bring him in and give him a chance. They know what Smith is and depending how long Gonzo is out will see which one can produce, probably special team play will play a big part in his decision. Good luck Hank, we can use a good special team player.
