Week 2: Thursday Injury Report

Schedule is pushed back a day due to the game being Monday Night Football, so it's day one of the injury report. Bob Sanders(knee), Jamie Silva (abdomen) and Tom Santi (ankle) are still sitting out from practice, joined by the obvious in Anthony Gonzalez (knee) and the unexpected addition of Charlie Johnson (back). Jamey Richard had limited participation. Fili Moala returned to practice after missing Thursday, Friday and Sunday's game.

Colts News: Oesher reports that Fili Moala is expected to play this week, Pat McAfee will handle kickoff duties now that Andrus is gone, waived LB Cody Glenn was signed to the practice squad replacing TE Jason Pocisak, has comments from Peyton on Baskett, Garcon and Collie and Ed Johnson speaks about his suspension and return to the lineup.

Phil B comments on another example of the Colts comically tight lipped stance making info about the team public.

Awesome totally off topic non-Colts link.

What, that’s it? I thought Oehser was supposed to be providing us with all things Colts news. He could have done so much more.

Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

Man, I need a life...

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: My chemistry class decided to have their first test on Monday, September 21, from 8:00-9:00 PM. The Colts play the Dolphins at 8:30 that same night. I don't think I can be any more ticked off right now. I think I'm going to kill someone. No, really. I just haven't decided who yet.

CJ's Injury

really is not that surprising. The man was hurt during most of the offseason and preseason. My guess is that its a precaution rather than anything serious.

Makes sense to me.

The Colts have in recent years been more active on holding players out of practice even if they’re slightly injured. Seems to be the case here too.

Hank Baskett signing

Give this guy the opportunity to do what the Eagles didn’t give him and that’s playing time . He’ll make a great target for PM because he’s 6’4 been in the league 3 years and will take some attention off Wayne and Clark . The Colt’s have in him a guy with a tight end body playing wide reciever something they have never had before . Plus he’s appears to be a very likeable teammate who had nothing bad to say about the Eagles organization for letting him go . Their lost Colt’s game . Go blue !!!!!!!

well we will see about playing time

It will be a matter of how long it will take him to learn the most complex offense in the NFL. When he does play, look after the huddle for Peyton to give him the heads up on what his job will be. It will be interesting to see where they use him this Monday…if he will be just a special teamer or if he will see some snaps on offense. I do like his height. Another interesting thing to watch will be if he proves himself as a Colt receiver or special teamer and stays on the roster after Gonzo is back.

Special teams

And some simple red zone routes. Maybe some blocking. Nothing too fancy this week I suspect.
