Uh oh...

Running thin at corner. It’s a good thing Pennington can’t throw the ball any farther than 5 yards without having to use both hands and spinning in a circle a la the hammer toss…

hehe.

Thanks. I needed that.

Marlin and Tim Jennings can also play corner, so I’m not too concerned.

Man, I need a life...

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: My chemistry class decided to have their first test on Monday, September 21, from 8:00-9:00 PM. The Colts play the Dolphins at 8:30 that same night. I don't think I can be any more ticked off right now. I think I'm going to kill someone. No, really. I just haven't decided who yet.

But did you hear, Jenning missed Practice this week for unspecified reasons.

Don’t know what that means, but it worries me.

to rest. It’s a precautionary thing. Call it the Bob Sanders Treatment.

lots of guys get it from time to time

Jennings is one who gets a day off regularly. Marlin and Ugoh got today off.

I only call it the Bob Sanders Treatment because he was the first one to get it if I recall correctly.

USC Loses to UW

LovinBlue,
You have to love it when USC loses in conference, eh? I took my 6 and 8 year-olds to our one annual UW game and it was a madhouse at the end. I’ve never been at a game where fans storm the field the moment the clock hits 00:00. When we left there were 5,000 on the field, easy. Who knows how many more ended up there. Payback for last year’s 56-0 thrashing.

Makes that December Cal game up in Seattle a lot more interesting now.

I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

Yay!

I love Washington until they beat Notre Dame in two weeks!

by Colts Homer on Sep 20, 2009 10:35 AM EDT up reply actions

I'm definitely a fan of Washington

and still believe that the NCAA sanctions handed down in the early 90s have contributed to their serious downfall for the past 20 years. The Bears still have to get by $c themselves, but you’re right… if both Cal and Washington continue to play at the level they have been, December will be very interesting.

As a side note, what’s up with the Pac-10 no longer respecting the cross-town / cross-state rivalries as the final game of the season?!?!

How can you not love a team that does this?

As far as I could tell the entire SB nation was hit.

I just happened to have a few different pages open when it happened and they all got hit within seconds of each other.

It looks like every NFL blog was hit.

This is incredible. This required a lot of planning. First, the person creates a whole bunch of usernames because each username posted no more than 2 things. Then, he/she has every username join the respective blog (covering all 32 blogs means at least 64 usernames, probably closer to 100.). Then, he/she copied and pasted that spam message to every one of the spam posts (some with different titles), and had the computer power to post all of them basically at once. Then, the spammer did a second round with all of the usernames. All of this took around 20 minutes.

It’s not right and a big pain in the butt, but sometimes you gotta admire someone able to do that, just like those guys who robbed a computer store clean in like 30 seconds.

Is it possible to ban an IP Address instead of a username, Shake? That would make sure the spammer doesn’t come back.

It's not that hard...

To mask an IP address. I’m sure whoever was good enough to do this didn’t leave a trail back to their parent’s basement.

it wasn't just NFL blogs

the U of Iowa SBN blog was hit (but it was quickly taken care of by Mods who were in the gameday open thread).

IDK about IP bans, that’s above my powers level, but like peytonsurdaddy says it’s not even that hard to get around an IP ban if you have a decent amount of computer knowledge (I don’t).

All of the AFC North blogs were hit

But all of the mods seem to be away ATM. I would sure like to know how these people pulled it off. Maybe there was more than one.

only have one or two mods. That kind of trick would never work over here with 3 full-time mods and 4 partial mods.

Isn't Mike Ditka the Levitra Spokestud?

He doesn’t strike me as terribly compuer savvy, but well, stranger things have happened. I say we start with him. If he didn’t do it himself, he can be “persuaded” to spill the beans….
