Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

Favourite Moment of the Weekend

With no colts to watch so far, I think my favourite moment was watching Ray Lewis come through the Chargers line UNTOUCHED, and blow up the run on fourth down by Sproules, to seal the win for Baltimore.   I almost died laughing.  The look on Rivers face was priceless.

I was watching the first half of the Dallas game hoping to see a punt hit the scoreboard... Wonder how many punters will be aiming for it this year.

Any other thoughts on the best moments in the non-colts games?

and running around the field with the Jets after him

Watching him scramble is hilarious. He does not throw well on the run. It was clear without welker out there who REALLY makes Brady look good.

No contest

Seeing Brady throw under 50% and an INT, while Sanchez looked like he was throwing against the Bengals.

My second-favorite: The Bengals making the Packers look like…well, the Bengals.

I'm with you on that Ray Lewis 4th down tackle

I actually applauded Ray-Ray on that tackle; I told my dad that should be the play of week!

Brady’s stat line

Even though the Giants didn’t get the first down on the play, but Eli’s scramble and 360 spin move for a completion was pretty good, though.

"Do I believe in aliens?" Stephon Marbury asked. "I don't know, because I've never seen one. But I believe in Jesus because I saw him in the shower the other day."

Lewis’ tackle was the best individual effort of the weekend.

Bluegirl, I’m with you about the punts in Dallas, but it didn’t look like any came too close. What was most striking (and repugnant) was how NBC turned the whole telecast into an infomercial for Cowboys Stadium. Actually, I expected as much.

The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in the stars, but in ourselves.

Football Outsiders audibles on the Ray-Ray play
Mike Tanier: Ray Lewis said he read the run on fourth down at the end of the game because he saw the line was slanted. I was wondering if something tipped him: he ran right through a hole vacated by a pulling interior lineman.

It's not just your perceptions that can be wrong. Even your memory is often incomplete or possibly flat out wrong.

I have lots of favorite moments from yesterday.

Eli Manning driving down the field to set up the field goal for the win against the Cowgirls.
Ray Lewis stuffing Sproles
Belichicks almost nonexistent handshake with Rex Ryan after the game.
Broncos Elvis Dumervil’s 4 sacks. (He’s a beast plus I like guys named Elvis).
Jack Del Rio’s blank stare.
Tommy Brady’s blank stare.
Big Ben’s blank stare.
Lastly, it was his party, so he can cry if he wants to, Jerry Jones

typical Belichick

No class, and he knew he HAD to shake hands, as the media would be watching with his past actions.

I agree, he couldn’t have made it shorter if he tried. I tried to catch his post game interview, (i have sunday ticket and NFL network) but never saw it (if he even gave one).

He gave one,

All he did was speak out of the side of his mouth and said “They made better plays than we did”. GIGANTIC lack of grace and personality.

No class...

He barely even took notice of Sanchez when he came up after the game…what a punk!!

"If me and King Kong went into an alley, only one of us would come out. And it wouldn't be the monkey."
"I don't really trust a sane person."
"I never met a man I didn't want to fight." The one and only Lyle Alzado

Sounds very reminiscent

of the time he snubbed Peyton in the AFC championship game. I guess a leopard never changes his spots.

before you go all hatin'

Belichick talked with both Sanchez and Ryan in the tunnel after the game. Not everything happens just for the cameras and sound-bites.

Keep the faith!

There were so many fantastic moments

that it’s hard to choose. But, seeing Jerry Jones looking like someone just punched him in the stomach at the end of the Cowboy’s game was sweet. The Cowboys forgot to stick with the fundementals. It was all about glamour, glitz, and strippers, and they lost. I can’t blame them for wanting to showcase their new stadium, but I don’t remember the Colts acting like idiots when the Luke opened. But, for me, number one probably was seeing the look on Brady’s face when it was obvious they were going to lose.

Is there anyone who could burn the Pats game to DVD and send it to me?

I want something good to watch when the hubby’s out of town – he he he

Since I didn't get to see a Colts game...

That Titans – Texans game was very entertaining. Andre Johnson tipping the ball to himself in the end zone reminded me of Marvin vs. the Pats a few years ago..

I was at a sports bar in Tampa

and I had three screens right in front of me. The first was Jax/Tenn, the second was Pats/Jets, and the third was Green Bay/Cincy. My head felt like it was on a swivel….great entertainment. And, the outcomes were even better. Of course, I was wearing my Colts gear!

the highlight reel

getting home from work after one of the hardest shifts i’ve ever done to find the patriots and the cowgirls lost! completely saved my day!
