Agreed

But I’m officially giving the go-ahead to the Jets to start losing.

by hoosierdore on Sep 27, 2009 4:29 PM EDT up reply actions

At this point

I think I’d rather play the Patriots than the Jets (The Patriots are playing a soft 4-3 defense instead of a blitzing 3-4, whereas I think the Jets D could really give the Colts O-line problems, and Revis has shown an ability to shutdown good WRs, so it would be a pretty tight matchup)

by JustAJ on Sep 27, 2009 4:37 PM EDT up reply actions

I don't want to sound like Im crying over spilled milk

but after watching Brees put up 50 points a game and still throwing in the 4th quarter and after watching how Brady got 50 (similiar game plan) the record means little to me. Peyton got KILLED in the media in 04 for throwing in the 3rd quarter of some of those games, but Brees and Brady get lauded for running up the score with 2 minutes left. Fuck the record, fuck brees, fuck brady.

by SpazMo on Sep 27, 2009 4:39 PM EDT up reply actions

I feel you there

but if thats what it takes to shut up the media about Brady and 50, then thats what it takes. I’ll let it slide just this once. Although Brees has yet to “run up the score” His D is shitty enough that they’re never going to run away with a game.

Indianapolis Colts, taking focus away from my DBacks every Sunday.

by JustAJ on Sep 27, 2009 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions

I think their D is better than it has been in the past

but they score so friggin fast that teams are doing nothing but throwing constantly, so it pads stats.

by SpazMo on Sep 27, 2009 4:42 PM EDT up reply actions

they're like us in 04

Good enough to get turnovers and end some games, but bad enough to give up the points necessary to let the QB keep throwing.

I believe you, but I’m 100% serious about the Colts opponents. Jags get like 10 penalties a game, until they play the Colts, then they are the most disciplined team in the league.

Last week we saw Jake Long set a record for False Starts at 89, and got 0 called. Its like they are saying, "Hey, Polian, stop pointing out our faults, or we’ll make it REALLY painful’

by peytonsurdaddy on Sep 27, 2009 5:22 PM EDT up reply actions

Here you go

References to pumpkins date back many centuries. The name pumpkin originated from the Greek word for “large melon” which is “pepon.” “Pepon” was nasalized by the French into “pompon.” The English changed “pompon” to “Pumpion.” Shakespeare referred to the “pumpion” in his Merry Wives of Windsor. American colonists changed “pumpion” into “pumpkin.” The “pumpkin” is referred to in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater and Cinderella.

Don't let last week fool you

The Cardinals are a great matchup for the Colts. The Colts play great pass defense, which is about all the Cardinals can do offensively.

They are pretty average defending the pass, and 18 is slightly above average.

34-21 win.

So, which division gets the “Dumpster Fire” award? I mean, Jax may be the Dumpster Fire team, but I’m thinking the AFC West gets it this year. The Chargers are terrible, the Raiders have possibly the worst QB in the league, the Chiefs have officially quit on their coach and GM three weeks into the season, and the Broncos, who everyone expected to be terrible, and probably couldn’t beat any of the teams in the AFC South, are leading the division. Thoughts?

there was something magical with Dungy

I agree. I do not want anymore changes but I loved how Dungy held himself higher than everyone else.

Brees blew today

Is he still elite?

Brady has blown the last 3 weeks.

and that a 16/29 170 yard 0 TD 0 INT game counts as Brees blowing just shows the standard he’s now held to because of his level of play with the Saints.
