Hagler back to Starting SAM? Wheeler to back-up.

With all of the roster shuffling today, I've been checking out the roster and depth charts on Colts.com and saw something interesting on the depth chart. (here).

It looks to me like Wheeler is out as the starting strong side linebacker.

Star-divide

Is this because Wheeler has yet to impress or is this just a move due to gameplanning for the Jags? Obviously, it's the depth chart for Week 1 because Ed Johnson doesn't appear on here. I was a little underwhelemed with him in the pre-season. Were Coyer and Caldwell also? I guess we'll find out on Sunday. FOOTBALL IS BACK!

Senn cut too?

Finally all those voicemails I’ve been leaving Caldwell are getting through to him…

Im getting more and more worried

about our linebackers. Could be our Achilles heal this season

Nah

As long as Brackett is healthy, we’ll be fine. LBers are not that important, as long as they can cover and tackle.

Not really

They can really help stop the run and can bring alot of pressure on the QB. They definately are important

….

what?

Hit em with your groin!

Maybe

They are planning on using Hagler as an every down backer, and Wheeler as a situational pass rush threat. Just a thought.

I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation

interesting

not that worrying to me since I like Hagler a lot.

curse of the 3rd rounder?

It's not just your perceptions that can be wrong. Even your memory is often incomplete or possibly flat out wrong.

Yeah,

Hagler is really good. I have absolutely no qualms about him starting alongside Brackett and Session. In fact, I think that’s the best trio we can get out there.

Andrus?

How long will he be on the roster for?

Until they are

confident that Vini’s come all the way back from his injury.

I commented on Phil Bs blog

that I am not sold that the team is completely committed to Vinny. I know it’s a bold opinion, but if Vinny isn’t going to be healthy enough or isn’t dependable on FG attempts, it wouldn’t shock me if they reluctantly let him go and kept Andrus.

I don’t really think something like that will happen, but it wouldn’t shock me if they did it.

Update

I think they are going to keep Vinatieri and Andrus will probably be gone by the end of the week.

Enter sinister laugh……

Andrus is just...

….holding Big Ed’s roster spot for week 2.
