Week 1: Wednesday Injury Report
50 players on the roster practiced fully. 3 sat out.
Did Not Participate: Bob Sanders (knee), Tom Santi (ankle), Jamie Silva (abdomen).
Silva missing time, in addition to Sanders not yet being back is probably the reason "Guns" Giguire was released from the practice squad in favor of a safety.
Kelvin Hayden and Raheem Brock who missed most of preseason after early injuries are practicing fully. Take a long look at the report because this is the healthiest we've seen the Colts and likely the healthiest we'll see for a long time. Clint Session is back at practice after missing the preseason finale and being spotted in a boot last week. Marlin Jackson is practicing fully, but will be the nickelback until his knee is strong enough to play full time. Phil B noticed a hint that Jerraud Powers will get the start at practice today.
Over on the Jags side. Backup tackle Tra Thomas (yes, backup tackle. The Jags will start rookies Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton) missed practice, along with 4th string TE Zach Miller (not to be confused with the only competent offensive player in Oakland, TE Zach Miller). Maurice Jones-Drew practiced fully.

Off topic but need advice
Who should I start in my fantasy league? The Colts D or the titans D? The reason I was considering this was the rookie tackles of the jags against free and mathis. If we get ahead early…. It could be a long day for the jags… To their credit they always play well against us and MJD could easily have a huge day.
DID SOMEONE SAY CHAMPIONSHIP

Colts D
Although we have looked shakey in presesaon, this time the starters will play. Also, even though I still suspect that the Steelers O-Line is rather weak, I think Rothlesberger can make enough plays with his legs to hurt them.

Also
Is it really worth keeping 2 defenses? Statistically, from year to year, the defenses’ fantasy points are pretty variable and it’s impossible to predict who will be dominant. You’re better off holding on to one, or switching D’s from week to week based on matchups, and use the extra roster spot for a high upside RB/WR. Just my opinion though.
"If you don't [draft me], I promise you I'll come back and kick your ass for the next 15 years."
knock on wood
Lets hope it stays this way only with Sanders back in the lineup and Jackson back to 100%.
Excellent.
Our health is looking really good. I wonder if the Colts can set a new record by not having any starters injured in the Jags game.
Here’s hoping.

Weird injury update
3 guys didn’t participate? I figured you were forgetting some people, it seemed so low. Although there are still concerns about AV, but at least he’s practicing.
As for the Jags starting 2 rookie tackles, you’ve gotta think Freeney and Mathis will have huge games. Especially if there’s no backup tackle to turn to. These youngsters have never played against someone as good as our DE’s and definitely haven’t seen the speed of Freeney. I’m still nervous about our running game but I’m thinking our ends can start the year off with multiple sacks…

Remember that our running game
will only improve from last year…..there’s only one direction it CAN go!
Is there going to be an open thread
for tonight’s game? If there is, I should be here the whole time. It’s a very rare occurrence.

How can you not love a team that does this?
I'll be fine until the NBC
pregame show comes on. Then I’ll get really antsy. Right now, NBC just has the news on.

What the heck?
I’m getting Wheel of Fortune right now. I love game shows and Wheel of Fortune, but I was expecting a pregame show. I want some football!
(And I’m also really anxious to see Dungy on the NBC pregame. Rodney Harrison, not so much.)

Britton and Monroe
Bummer to start your first NFL game against two Pro Bowl ends.
