We could be playing the Steelers this weekend

The biggest unintended consequence of resting our starters was helping the Jets get in.  If not for that, I think it would be the Steelers who we would getting ready to play now (assuming they won a couple playoff games too of course).  I would be much more scared of them.  With Polamalu playing, they would be a real tough team to beat.  Granted, their talent isn't where it's been in recent years, but the experience and QB is so much higher than the Jets.

Just a thought

(of course I could be wrong and maybe it'd be the Texans.  Also scary b/c they always play us close, but not quite as scary as the Steelers)

No they wouldn't

The Steelers are a great matchup for the Colts, even with Polamalu. They’d destroy them.

The Colts appeared to match up against the Steelers in '05, and we all know what happened

And like you said, psvirsky, the Colts beating the Jets would have punched the Texans’ ticket, not that of the Steelers. The reason we missed the playoffs is because we lost to the Chiefs, Raiders, and Browns. If we win two of those games, we’re the three seed in the playoffs…

Ignorant. Right. I'm just so so stupid.

I know nothing about football.

Your team can’t stop the pass at all, you can’t block, you can’t run. You have a QB and that’s it.

Without Smith and Polamalu that D fell apart. The Colts would score 50 on them. Add Troy in and maybe that goes down to 30. Big deal. Ben can pass for 400 yards all he wants, it would never be enough to beat the Colts.

I love that people seem to think that the 14-0 team has some reason to fear the team that lost to the Browns, Raiders, and Chiefs.

This is the NFL and anything can happen, of course. But of all those teams – Jets, Texans, Ravens, Jags, Titans, etc, the Steelers are the very best matchup for the Colts. The idea that they conspired to keep them out is laughable.

Your ignorance comes from underestimating Polamalu

You would not score 30 points against us with Troy in there. Sorry, but you wouldn’t. Our defense is completely different and ten-fold better with him in it. Just look at the stats with him and without him this year. That speaks for itself.

14-0 does not scare me, since only 3 of those teams were playoff teams. And mentioning the loss to those teams is irrelevant in this argument since Troy was out for those games. All of those are Ws with His Hairness in.

Also, you are ignorant for saying all we have is a QB. Here are some names for you to study up on: LaMarr Woodley, James Harrison, Santonio Holmes, Hines Ward, Heath Miller, and Mike Wallace. Get back to me on those.

Optimism. Positivity. Win.
