When, and Why did you start following Stampedeblue? (Why why are you still here?)
Just a thought I had, I was wondering when everybody checking this site out. I know there are are many who lurk for a while before they join the community and start making posts, like myself.
Watching the site grow over the last couple years I just thought it would be interesting to hear when everybody else jumped on the bandwagon
My story after the jump
Back in 06 during the early part of the season, I had a buddy of mine who always was on the site. Eventually I just remember checking it out on his computer, then I added it to my bookmarks in my dorm one night and I've probably checked in every day sinceIt took me a while to make a profile and all that stuff (after the SB Nation thing happened) but it's just crazy how much this site has grown and the community here is one of a kind and I think the recognition is great.
BBS has also become the Vince McMahon of SB Nation lmao....he knows how to keep the heated discussion going and I think that's a awesome thing for the site as a whole, because that's what blogs are about.
**EDIT** I'm still not sure about the whole LOL cat thing, but since I'm used to seeing it everyday now, and I am quite impressed at some of the MS paint skills and wittiness of many of our posters here, well in relation to cats. I think it's our trademark now...
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Let's see...
I’m not quite sure when it was. Sometime before the 2007 season, I think. The date on the profiles are misleading since SB Nation went through that change in 2008. I was scouring the web looking for any and all information regarding my beloved Colts. I read an article on PFT (I now know better) and found a link here. I haven’t turned back since. StampedeBlue has won a favicon on my bookmarks toolbar and I check it as often as I do email.

I just got a little misty eyed
Reading this, made me think back to when we averaged 150 hits a day.

@BBS
And now the VY pro bowl gets about 500 in the first freakin’ hour!
Kudos.
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.
I don't remember
Who I am, where I am, or why I am here. Go Colts!

For displaced Colts fans, this site is a lifesaver!

Oh I'd say it was circa 2007
I don’t recall for sure. I was an AZSnakepit addict (the Diamondbacks SBNation affiliate). I love the community so much over there that I came here looking for a similar Colts experience. Here isn’t quite the same tight nit community that the ‘Pit is (Cass you’d fit right in) but it gets a wider range of opinions and the discussion is much more heated. Sometimes I enjoy being an internet tough guy.

I'd fit in at the Diamondbacks blog?
Wouldn’t I have to, you know, know something about the Diamondbacks?

A few years ago I stumbled upon all of the SBNation sites as strong sources of team-specific news
As a Colts fan, naturally I went here, and all of the great commenters and community interaction is the reason I keep coming back.
Insert Clever Statement Here
Started about a year and a half ago,
in the 2008 season training camp. I had been reading Phil B’s blog for a while now (found it through ads in the IndyStar newspaper), and wanted to start commenting there. So, I commented there during preseason and more than half the 2008 season and quickly became one of Phil B’s favorites (He said so himself.). E.M.H (or A.J. at Phil B’s blog) can attest to my presence there.
Anyway, this is before I knew about Bookmarks in Internet Browsers, so I typed the web address for Phil B’s blog in every time I wanted to go to it. One time, about halfway through that season, I had a typo in the address, and it took me to a Google search of what I typed and led me to this page. I thought that as long as I was there, I would check out the blog and I liked what I saw. DZ then led me to check out SB and IFR through constant linking, and I eventually became a lurker. Shake then pushed me onto the site by taking credit for an April Fool’s joke that I thought of.
And that was when my free time went out the window.

Who here was at Stampede Blue
With the old setup and when you had to sign up individually to comment on other sites? It seems like it was just me, shake, KR, and BBS now. A lot of people have come and went.

Its a website...
people come and go. People run out of free time from going to college to work, or they go get married with kids.
I remember when Big Cat Country started, he had no one showing up on the site. He had more comments from Colts fans who knew him from here (BBS told him to go for the writer gig) than actual glitter kitty fans.

I first found BTSC in early November of 2007
I was looking for some stories about the Steelers’ 38-7 shellacking of the Ratbirds on MNF that week. I went to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Blog n’ Gold, where I found a like to some site called Behind the Steel Curtain. I’ve visited nearly daily ever since. I suppose I found Stampede Blue in the ensuing days, when I looked up the SBN blogs for the Steelers’ rivals. I immediately wondered if Stampede Blue had existed during the Colts playoff loss to Pit in 2006, so I looked “Steelers” up in the archives. Instead, I found two angry posts about how stupid the Steelers were for running the ball and how they were totally overrated or something, written during the spring of 2006. Some things never change! ;-)

Joined the day after Week 16
I started lurking around pre-season. I found so much good information on this site so I kept coming back. First I’d check in twice a week, then once a day, then multiple times a day, then it got to the point I’d read part of the open threads. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site and that really helps.
Being in NY and being a Colts fan can be tough, not a lot of people here want to talk Colts football and even my friends won’t have intelligent conversations with me about the Colts, they’ll just say Peyton isn’t as good as you think (gee thanks for your wonderful insight – idiots).
The reason I started posting was because of the fan backlash that occurred after week 16 (not trying to bring it up again I swear). I couldn’t understand why people would hate on the team, they could’ve benched people against the Jags too for all I care. They, at that point, had won 13 games. Some teams don’t win 13 games in 3 seasons. I’m spoiled as a Colts fan but I appreciate every bit of it. I’m young so I wasn’t around during bad years a lot but I was a fan in 97 and 98 and those weren’t the greatest years. Yes we had the players to make things better but at the time the team was terrible.
Another reason I waited so long was that I wasn’t sure I’d fit in, not being from the area and all but I’ve learned that not everyone’s from Indy and that’s what makes this place special.
Cass, AngelsColts, Coltsfan, Spazmo, Diagenesis, LovinBlue, Marked, and people I’m sure I’m missing are hilarious – they had some hilarious stuff before I got here while I was lurking and they did make me want to join more and more. While I might not talk to you guys directly on here, you all did motivate me to join so thanks!
And bam, I’m done (post has been long enough, sorry).
very long but good post (glad to have you) wonder if i should do mine probably will)

Newbie
I just joined this forum after the Ravens game. I was desperate for news praising my colts (not near as much as there should have been) and I stumbled upon this site. I absolutely love it. Everyone here seems really intelligent and well spoken. Then again, this is a Colts forum so what else would you expect? I’ve been a colts fan my whole life and I’ve been a true football fanatic since ‘06. I’m looking forward to posting here for a long time to come. GO COLTS!!!!!

According to my profile
I joined during the offseason in 2008. I honestly don’t remember how I found SB, but probably Googled phrases like “Colts blog” and this came up consistently. I lurked for a long time, commented infrequently (and never enough to reveal how truly little I know about the game), and finally got brave enough to actually make a few FanPosts. It’s been all downhill from there…
How can you not love a team that does this?
haha nice

It all started with google
I joined in Dec. ‘09, but I’ve been lurking off and on for over a year. I first found this site last season looking up something Colts related on google (maybe pictures of Peyton), started reading, forgot to bookmark it and lost it. I then googled Colts blogs at the beginning of this season and I started lurking again. I finally started posting last week during the Ravens game. I figured it was time to stop just lurking and join in bc I didnt want to be a creeper forever!

Right after week 16's...
…“Decision Game”. I got sick of listenting to the national and local (Kravitz) bashing the Colts, so I was happy to come here and find thoughtful, supportive fans. Even after reading BBS’ rants on Polian, I’ve stuck it out.
CAN’T FREAKIN’ WAIT TIL SUNDAY!! GO COLTS!!
06 sometime
was roommates with MRW, when the blog started… he talked me into it at some point early in that season, lurked for quite a while before i signed up.
remember the bet with WCG over addai and 1k yards + 10 td’s his rookie year? time flies!
