Florio at PFT uses really good reasons to pick jets
or not... I am sure BBS will enjoy this! Link to Story
By Mike FlorioNew York Jets at Colts
Coach Rex Ryanhas crafted a potent message for his team. Ryan talks big, and his team responds.
As a result, they don’t simply believe they can beat the Colts. The Jets
We’ve seen over the past several years that any team qualifying for the tournament can get to the finals. Last year, the 9-7 Cardinals defied the odds and made it to the Super Bowl. The prior season, the fifth-seeded Giants won the thing.believe that they will. And that’s making others not in the locker room believe it, too.
In 2005, the sixth-seeded Steelers emerged with a Super Bowl win, too. So with the Jets buoyed by winning two playoff games on the road, they can do it as well. More importantly, they believe that they will.
It won’t be easy. The challenge will be to control the ball, shorten the game, keep Peyton Manning frustrated on the sidelines and frazzled when he’s playing, and coax Mark Sanchez to deliver key throws when needed.
Manning has struggled in the past with 3-4 defenses, and Ryan and defensive coordinator Mike Pettine will do everything they can to confuse and confound Manning.
So let’s give them the benefit of the doubt.
Pick: Jets 17, Colts 13.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Was Ryan not talking big enough during the seven losses during the season? Can Ryan really “talk” his team over the Colts? I think not. When Sanchez get a taste of the Colts defense at 100%, the turnovers will begin.
So essentially
Manning is good, Sanchez is not. Benefit of the doubt goes to the Jets? Nevermind Peyton is what? Roughly 12-1 in his last 13 games against a 3-4 defense?

WTF?
Sports writer’s predictions are jokes. The stuff he uses to back up his argument isn’t even factual, and even if it was he’s essentially forgetting about our D. All manning has to do is find the end zone twice and get at least one field goal and our defense can do the rest. And that’s being generous. (see Raven’s game from last week)

it's the 3-4 defense crap again
but he had always found ways to win. the closest game i would have to say is the 49er game they did a number on the offense 3 sacks in that game and no td allowed for manning.
oooh
so you’re saying we’ll see Addai throw for the winning TD? me likey, lol
How can you not love a team that does this?
depends on which shoulder is sore
if it’s his left, the pass will likely be under 60 yards.
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.
Why is nobody respecting
the fact that we haven’t lost a game this season in which we tried to win? So annoying.
that REALLY IS disconcerting
But then again, in all the time I have wasted online reading about this game, I see only two notable pundits picking NYJ: Billick and Florio. And only one of them is credible—the one who played and coached the game.
I see a lot of people covering their asses in case the Jets win, or just deflecting trolls by pointing out all the good qualities of the Jets, but not actually predicting a win for them. Because that would be, you know, stupid. My dad bet on them with my brother because, in his words, “I learned my lesson 41 years ago…” when he lost a bundle on SB III, which is about as solid a reason as Florio. But he’s 83 and not all that savvy… what’s Forio’s excuse?

Well,
Florio is the sort of guy who walks around not knowing he has the cockslobber of the corporate masters to whom he sold out dripping from his chin, so I do believe I know how much stock we can put into his predictions.
They're running out of stuff to write!!
But he forgot to mention the Jets will need to have all the luck they had in the SD game last week, too…basically the stars and moons will have to be aligned ONCE AGAIN. C’mon, the only reason the Jests stayed in the game through the first half of that game was because SD’s strategy apparently was make costly false-starts and delay-of-game penalties (in their own house!!) and other STOOPID needless penalties, and some really questionable play calling and clock management at the end of the half. At one point SD had 8 first downs to the Jets ONE. Oh yeah, lets not forget the missed FG(s) by a usually reliable, Pro Bowl kicker. Sorry Jets supporters, but luck, SD’s undisciplined self-inflicted wounds, and poor coaching let you stay in the game long enough to actually do something offensively – EVENTUALLY. Don’t count on the perfect alignment of moons-and-stars to happen twice in one week. And not against the most disciplined team in the NFL. Florio needs to add ‘the willingness for the other team to lose the game’ to his deep, probing analysis.
GO COLTS!!
Ehh 3-4 Defense crap again...
So… uh… Did Colts beating NE, Bal, blah blah blah not count this season and the past I don’t know how many seasons? Peyton has won (I lost count) number of times in a row against the Ravens you know…

Rex West
Rex Ryan is the Kanye west of the NFL. He was mad about not being favored against the Bengals. He was mad when his CB did not win the Defensive MVP. Now he feels since he was able to take care of a team we have trouble against, the Jets will automatically make it to the Superbowl. You know how the old mentality goes, since they beat you and we beat them ( submit the rest). I just hope we can put another beating on a Rex Ryan defensive as we did last year during the regular season. Colts 31- Baltimore 3. GO COLTS!
~Bowl or Bust~
This is why I don't link to Florio in the weekly Power Rankings
during the season.
I am of the opinion that he has the tendancy to pull stuff out of his @ss to get hits. He can absolutely NOT be taken seriously.

Florio's formula
is diabollically clever, yet ridiculously simple:
Since, in the past, lightning has struck in myriad, unrelated places at various, unrelated points in time we can accurately predict that it will strike again at the Luke on Sunday. All that needs to happen is for the 4 time MVP QB to play like a rookie and the rookie QB to play like an MVP.
Then, because Themouthasauras Rex has declared that his team will win, AND that team believes him, the Jest victory is a foregone conclusion.
The logic of the argument and the precision of the analysis are irrefutable.
