1. Charles Brown, LT, USC. Needed to lock him out of the Cowboys, but that’s legit since Brown might not even be 300lbs and the Cowboys like their linemen giant and jiggly.
2. Greg Hardy, DE, Ole Miss, with his talent you can take him at 64 even with the injury and effort red flags, along with DE not being a big need right now.
3. Javier Arenas, CB/KR, Alabama, great returnman who can learn the D as the dimeback or lower.
4. A.J. Edds, OLB, Iowa, a poor man’s Chad Greenway. Might fit in at the SAM coverage-wise since he’s pretty athletic and played in a cover-2 at Iowa. He’s a big strong run defender at 6’4" 244.
5. Jacoby Ford, WR, Clemson. Burner speed, and return experience.
7. Leigh Tiffin, K, Alabama. Despite the Beefcake and "Clutch" Vinny brings, Indy could be getting the same performance at kicker for several times cheaper.

Which is why I also think you toss this year’s stats out the window too. Not many people are looking at the matchups as they should be looked at — they are relying on stats. 99% of people making predictions haven’t watched a single Jets game — I must say, I’m not taking them lightly like most of us are. Just like you are saying the 41-0 teams are different, I feel they are a totally different team now then they were 5 weeks ago, from what I’ve watched.

nah, i'm pretty new.
I’ve lived in IN for 13 yrs, so haven’t kept up on MSU much. I didn’t grad from MSU… lived in and around East Lansing when i was a kid, so it’s my ‘adopted college’.
Anyway, ND has been a powerhouse for a long time; up until recently, that is. Guess growing up in Mich and seeing ND on TV all the time, i got tired of ’em. Kinda how i feel about the Yankees, Red Sox, and other east coast teams. No real reason to dislike ’em except being tired of hearing about them all the time.

our runs on delays and draws. Try to get the D upfield and then hand the ball off behind them. The stretch will not work against them(not that it has at any time this season.)

The Rams lost 2 QBs to injury last season. You don’t take a Franchise QB if you can’t protect him. They have their LT of the future in place though, so they take the best player in the draft and wait for Jason Smith to develop
2. Lions Russell Okung OT from Oklahoma State
If you’ve taken a franchise QB you can’t protect, you do what it takes to protect him. DT is a big need as well, but the Lions can’t have their 42 million dollar man getting beat up like last year.
3. Buccaneers Eric Berry SS / FS from Tennessee
The Bucs abandoned their switch away from the Tampa-2, making Berry’s experience under Monte Kiffin a plus on an already great prospect.
4. Redskins Jimmy Clausen QB from Notre Dame
Jason Campbell will probably be a solid FA pickup elsewhere, but with a new FO in place they won’t stake their jobs on the old FOs disappointment.
5. Chiefs Rolando McClain ILB from Alabama
McCoy is the biggest value, but they have their DEs in place with Jackson and Dorsey.

Seahawks rebuild the line, before shooting for a Franchise QB in the later rounds or 2011.
15. Giants Brian Price DT from UCLA
Perfect fit to shoot gaps in a 4-3
16. Titans Everson Griffen DE from USC
Kyle Vanden Bosch’s indefatigable motor netted just 3 sacks last year and the Titans pass defense suffered greatly as a result.
17. 49ers Patrick Robinson CB from Florida State
The Niners pass D was excellent overall, but had issues stopping opponents #1 WRs.
18. Steelers Earl Thomas FS / SS from Texas
Both the Steelers complements to Polamalu are on the wrong side of 30 and hitting free agency. Mays duplicates too much of Polamalu’s box skills so they take a rangy-er safety to play deep.
19. Falcons Jerry Hughes DE/OLB from TCU
Falcons pass D needs more pressure from the front 4 to improve. Hughes at DE should be a big help.
20. Texans Taylor Mays FS from USC
Bernard Pollard gave the Texans some passable safety play, but there’s a reason he was cut and the John Busing/Brian Russell combo at the other safety spot is horrendous.
21. Bengals Damian Williams WR from USC
The Bengals have the QB and the OL to be a great passing O, but the targets are lacking.
22. Patriots Sergio Kindle OLB from Texas
The Pats are desperately in need of a pass rush.
23. Packers Bruce Campbell OT from Maryland
The Pack is desperately in need of someone to stop the pass rush.
24. Eagles Brandon Graham DE/OLB from Michigan
Eagles love to bring the heat, a great rusher to put opposite Trent Cole, or to blitz from the SAM LB spot would certainly do it.
25. Ravens Jermaine Gresham TE from Oklahoma
Todd Heap has morphed from a top receiving TE to an athletic tackle and “The Franchise Player” LJ Smith has been invisible.
26. Cardinals Ricky Sapp DE/OLB from Clemson
Carlos Dansby may walk away which would be a whole that needs to be filled. A high flying pass attack needs a strong pass D to prevent teams from keeping pace or closing deficits.
27. Cowboys Trent Williams OT from Oklahoma
The ‘Boys need OL help badly. Williams might not be a pro LT, but the only other 1st round OT option remaining, Charles Brown, is far too light for Dallas’ taste.
28. Chargers Jonathan Dwyer RB from Georgia Tech
LDT basically told the Chargers to shove it, so they’ll need a bigger back to complement the dangerous, but severely undersized Sproles.
29. Jets Corey Wootton DE from Northwestern
At 6"6" 280 Wootton is perfect for a 3-4 DE.
30. Vikings Mike Iupati OG from Idaho
Peterson has had a good deal of trouble getting going recently, which puts the O in a lot of long yards to go situations. A mauler like Iupati should reduce the busts and up the booms from AP.
31. Saints Jared Odrick DT from Penn State
The only effective run D the Saints have had this year has come from the offense putting teams too far behind for opponents to grind it out on the ground.
32. Colts Charles Brown OT from USC
The Colts have given up just 10 sacks, but that’s a near miracle given the flaws Charlie Johnson and Ryan Diem have in pass protection. Brown will let them move CJ or Diem inside, making avoiding the rush easier on Peyton and improving the terrible run blocking.

Funny story from last week
I went to the game, ended up getting wasted. Watched the first drive from that endzone opening. Then when I wanted to go to my seat, I realized I had lost my ticket. I didn’t get to my seat until the Reggie Wayne TD right before halftime.

I predicted Gang Green would go 9-7 week 1 but I don’t know why because I picked against them every week they didn’t go against Miami Buffalo or Oakland.

Well
A few people sometimes say I’m on crack or something to that effect but I think I’m a balancing factor over there. I’m sometimes right about things like records or draft busts (Gholston) or players just slumping that have resurgences (Kerry Rhodes thus far). Usually the only arguments we have are over certain players values to the team.
We usually get along just fine. If someone is too obnoxious over there John or David whip out the handy dandy banhammer.
I think if the Jets rounded all the other plethora of 9-7 and 8-8 teams and went on to beat the Bungals and Chargers then they deserve to challenge the Colts as much as any other AFC team.

i will try to watch the game with u but i am tapeing it
okay i have cereal palsy arhrtis and chronic fatiue as well i have a grea life loveing folks some days are better that other days i got a make a wish in 2001 saw my favorive team the broncos was the trip of the lifetime i wish everyone couild gotten to enjoy that with me i know some of u hate the broncos and that ok but i bleed organ and bule reseident broncos fan for ap lol denver will rise again resident broncos fan for every blog resident broncos fan for stanpleid bule

why so close
24-15 Colts is a disappointment based on all the number crunching I’ve seen on here… as a Jet fan I expect you guys to blow us out. Deep down we all do, but we’re just giving you a hard time. Anything but a blow out is a choke job, in my opinion — the Jets aren’t even in the same stratosphere as the Colts, and if you think I am posturing, re-read all your own posts. I think we’ll all be shocked if it’s close.

I predict Colts 27 Jets 13 with the Jets scoring late to even make it look that close. I would be very surprised if it is close. Can it happen? Sure, if Manning chokes it up and gets rattled, but I don’t see him doing that like he used to — I think he is focused and angry. I won’t hedge on my prediction, but I will watch hoping to be wrong.
To be honest with you,
my score prediction all along has been Colts 34 Jets 17. I don’t think it will be close at all. But after years and years of seeing the Colts act like a different team in the playoffs than they were in the regular season, nothing they do surprises me anymore. I think the entire team is focused and angry, but moreso on the defensive side. I think they want to go out and show that we have a pretty good defense too. Following Raheem Brock on Twitter and he says the team feels that the Jets have disrespected the Colts and they have something to prove.
