Pro Bowl replacements announced; Dallas Clark's replacement on the list
The NFL.com blog listed replacements for Super Bowl players today.
A fun debate (rumor?) arose on the game threads about whether Dallas Clark would play in the Pro Bowl or not. Given that his replacement was named, it seems doubtful.

It's funny that anyone believed he would play
If the Colts FO and mgmt pulled starters mid-way through a regular season game for purposes of avoiding injury and returning to health, it would make our heads explode if they allowed Clark to play in the Pro Bowl.
How can you not love a team that does this?
Yeah. It seemed to me to be more in the nature of being a joke than genuine belief
But this sort of info seals the story: He’s not playing, not if there’s a replacement for him.
Funny thing: I saw on NFL Network that, in order to collect the Pro Bowl check, they actually have to be there for all the pregame ceremonies, plus be on the sideline for some period of time during the game (I missed what that period was). That’s sort of amusing.

It's redicules is what it is
Ultimately I view the Pro Bowl as a completely one-more-time-for-the-fans kind of game, which is why the post-Super Bowl format worked well. Guys could still get ready to play, ham it up with the media, in a completely relaxed environment. Now the guys on the best teams (the Super Bowl bound ones) can’t participate, and yet they’re forced to go there for media purposes?
Polian had some choice words about the level of disruption the format is this year. I don’t blame him. How many Saints were originally elected to go? I hope this disrupts them equally, lol!

He *HAS* to be.
Manning’s developing one helluva deadpan for his deliveries. But seriously, he had to have been joking. The replacement is already named.

Don't worry.
He was joking on Clark going out there to work on his blocking.
